Our robust Pre-stack Depth Imaging Services, utilizing proprietary reflection tomography coupled with state-of-the-art Tsunami™ Kirchhoff based depth imaging tools will maximize your investment and enhance drilling performance. With migration from surface, sophisticated anti-aliasing, and fast run-times utilizing our parallel clusters, we are able to leverage Sterling’s precise time processing to produce superior depth images. Enhanced algorithm capabilities improve phase stability, tuning and thus increase reservoir resolution. Our “data driven” solution leads to more geologic velocity models with higher spatial resolution. Data Driven – Well Calibrated Depth Imaging Data Driven – Reflection Tomography for velocity updates (based on semblance-based picking of CIP gathers) Efficient, high fidelity Kirchhoff migration algorithm Fast, cost-effective isotropic solution with final depth calibration based on well control – improved imaging over PSTM, data in depth domain Anisotropic solution available (Delta, Epsilon) https://lnkd.in/gKtXVpHH

Advanced Noise Tools Sterling has the ability to examine the characteristics of noise in a number of domains including: 3D Shot, 3D Receiver, Shot/Receiver Lines, CDP, Common Offset, Common Offset/Vector (OVT), and random. FDNS identifies anomalous amplitudes in narrow and/or specific (low – high) frequency bands. It is a data adaptive tool that can be performed over specific window lengths and therefore has no adverse effect on the data. Many noise techniques (multi-channel) can have an adverse effect on HTI anisotropy. Due to the adaptive nature of FDNS the approach is “anisotropy friendly”. This noise tool is very effective in removing swell noise, seismic interference, noise bursts, spikes, ground roll and other types of random or coherent noise. Optionally, it can also be used to restore weak amplitudes that occur across certain channels. https://lnkd.in/gtkjdANV

5D Regularization & Interpolation Modifications to the original MWNI method allow for better handling of aliased data and mixed amplitude events. Where high amplitude and low amplitudes are present (dipping diffractions), the correct amplitude and image can be better preserved. A data model is constructed using a high dimensional Fourier technique that minimizes spectral distortion caused by irregular sampling. New traces are generated using this model resulting in a preserved azimuth and densely populated dataset which is consistent with well sampled areas of the original geometry. We pay attention to detail in every step of data processing. Getting the basics right is critical for more complex data processing steps later in the workflow. When companies bring us data for reprocessing, we often find the original issue is related to inaccurate geometry assignment, or incorrect statics or velocities. Errors are costly, and the basics count. https://lnkd.in/gTABrZTb

Come and visit us this week!
Join us this Wednesday, January 22nd, for our January Technical Luncheon featuring a technical talk from Rich Van Dok. This event will be held at SLB's offices in Addison. Thank you to Sterling Seismic, Schlumberger and S&P Global for Sponsoring the event. Lunch to be served at 11:30 and the talk to begin at Noon. Pre-Registration is available here: https://lnkd.in/gP7gdibp Abstract: Design, acquisition and processing of three Permian Basin 3D VSP surveys to support the processing and interpretation of a large 3D/3C surface seismic survey Three 3D borehole seismic (VSP) surveys were designed and acquired in Andrews and Ector Counties, Texas in 2019 to provide data to support the processing and interpretation of a high-fold multicomponent 3C/3D survey. The three downhole receiver well locations were chosen in available wells in three distinct geological settings within the area covered by the surface seismic surveys. Large aperture 3-component (3C) borehole geophone arrays and both P-wave and S-wave vibrator sources were utilized, providing valuable time-depth and velocity information. In addition to the travel time information, high-resolution VSP reflection images were produced for the various wave types recorded (P-P, P-S and S-S) which gave useful insights into the signal properties of each. This presentation provides a brief overview of the acquisition, processing and interpretation of these VSP surveys as well as some thoughts on the value of borehole seismic in general for exploration, development and reservoir monitoring.
