This year marks a special milestone for our team as we reflect on the incredible journey we've taken in building and upgrading Linear Accelerator (LINAC) facilities that provide essential, lifesaving treatments. We thank Emerson Health for continuously placing their trust in Sterling Construction for advanced, complex projects. - May 1997: Andrew Colameta, an apprentice electrician at the time, wired up the first Linear Accelerator project for Emerson Health. This was a significant development for the community, revolutionizing the quality of treatment provided for patients undergoing radiation treatments. Check out the article about the profound difference this made for the area below! - October 2010: Emerson installs its 2nd Linear Accelerator. Nathan Pfleegor, a standout superintendent at the time, and Andrew Colameta, now a seasoned Project Manager, joined forces to bring this project to life, again overseeing construction of a new vault, equipment installation, and fit-up. - 2024: The journey comes full circle as we replace our original LINAC 1. This time, it was Joseph Colameta who carried on the legacy and ran the construction site. The replacement ensures that the Emerson facilities continue to provide the highest standard of care for years to come. Being part of these projects over the last 27 years has been incredibly special. Our work directly supports the delivery of cutting-edge cancer treatments, and it's an honor to contribute to something that makes such a profound difference in people's lives. ?? Project Complete – Ahead of Schedule! ??? We’re excited to share the successful completion of the UMass Southborough Endoscopy Project—a phased healthcare facility delivered a full month ahead of schedule! This occupied renovation included the addition of six new patient prep bays, two new nurse stations, two new procedure rooms, a new registration and lobby, and a new clean work area for scope reprocessing. In addition to the interior improvements, the project also added two new rooftop MAUs for added patient comfort and increased sustainability. A huge thank you to our incredible partners: ?? Sterling recently completed a 3,000 sqft dental office in Wellesley featuring (9) hygienist and treatment rooms, sterilization area, imaging room and a welcoming reception area. This marks the completion of the second dental office Sterling has completed for the Hirshberg Dental Group. We are grateful for the partnership we have formed with the team over the years! The project was brilliantly designed by ACTWO Architects and Allied Consulting Engineering Services Inc., and closely coordinated with Building Owner John Hancock, Property Manager JLL and Dental Equipment Consultant Henry Schein Dental.
