Step Up delivers compassionate support to people experiencing serious mental health conditions, and persons who are experiencing chronic homelessness, to help them recover, stabilize, and integrate into the community. Step Up is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization providing permanent housing, supportive services and workforce development for individuals experiencing a mental health condition and chronic homelessness. Step Up has been offering compassionate mental health support since 1984 and forming dynamic community partnerships co-developing housing since 1994. Last year, Step Up served nearly 5000 individuals at its locations throughout California, Georgia, Florida, and Tennessee.

Today kicks off the National Drug and Alcohol Facts Week (NDAFW) – an annual, week-long health observance that inspires dialogue about the science of drug use and addiction among youth. Step Up is a member of the Hollywood Homeless Youth Partnership (HHYP). This group ensures Transition Age Youth have access to safe #housing and #mentalhealth services, ultimately reducing high-risk sexual, criminal, and substance misuse behaviors while providing a supportive environment for youth to begin their transition to independence. #NDAFW #EndTheStigma

The Kaufmann Apartments at Step Up on Colorado opened in 2015, ending homelessness for 32 of Santa Monica’s most vulnerable neighbors. It's a LEED Platinum building & won the U.S. Green Building Council Los Angeles Chapter Merit Award for Water Efficiency in 2016. Step Up has many #permanentsupportivehousing locations--three are in Hollywood. One of those locations, The Tammy - On Sunset, is a collaboration between Aileen Getty and Step Up, providing housing for individuals experiencing #chronichomelessness and #mentalhealthconditions. We also serve hundreds more individuals housed in other apartment sites throughout the community.
