This year's 6th Annual TECH CORPS #Hackathon was nothing short of extraordinary. On November 9 and 16, we brought together hundreds of high school students from Akron, Cleveland, Columbus, Dayton, and Elyria to demonstrate the transformative power of technology. Our challenge was bold: build a mobile app that addresses one of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. And our students exceeded every expectation. The creativity and thoughtfulness displayed by our young participants were truly inspiring. They showed us that technology isn't just about coding—it's about creating solutions that can genuinely improve our world. To our incredible sponsors and volunteers, THANK YOU! Your support made this experience possible. You didn't just support an event; you invested in the next generation of problem-solvers, innovators, and change-makers. We can't wait to celebrate the winning teams from each city during #CSEdWeek at the Ohio Statehouse and showcase the incredible potential of these young people. Together, we're raising the innovators and leaders who will power our #SiliconHeartland 2024 SPONSORS Franklin County Office of DEI, Columbus City Council, Nordson Corporation, Progressive Insurance, AT&T, CoverMyMeds, WillowTree, Lorain County Community College and SciTech 2024 HOST SITES Lorain County Community College, The University of Akron, Cuyahoga Community College, Central State University, Columbus City Schools - Ohio, Capital University, & Linden Community Center

We. Did. That. From our partners mouths to your ears. We didn’t give rules. We didn’t set limits. We leaned into trust. It was not a perfect process and not without challenges but it can be done! We need more funders to test these waters and refine most importantly co-created data collection. But it can be done! We can let communities lead. Hope the sound works below. #trust #economicmobity Catherine (Cathy) García Abdulrazakh "Razakh" Abdirahman Stephanie Williams Rameau, MPH

The gender gap in #STEM may begin as early as kindergarten. A recent study, covered in Forbes, highlights that biases shape young minds early, which has lasting effects on who chooses to work in STEM fields. Today, women make up just one-third of the STEM workforce, an imbalance that has far-reaching negative consequences for #innovation and #equity.
