Blink twice and these young girls might be taking over CTO positions across our country—maybe even at your own company! It may be the end of Black History Month, but it’s certainly not the end of Black historymakers in the making! . . . #BlackHistoryMonth #BlackSTEM #WomenInSTEM #DiversifySTEM

??????Our overarching goal is to transform STEM fields by empowering girls of color with the know-how, experience, and confidence to dream big in STEM—all through the power of dance.?? We do this through our dynamic Camps and other programs. Over the past year, we worked intimately with a videography team to create a compelling video which encapsulates who we are -- and the impact behind our work. Please take a moment to watch the video and share it with a friend who knows an 8 to 18-year-old girl who may be curious about dance and STEM, too! . . . #STEMFromDance #STEMgirl #GirlsInSTEM

The STEM skills our girls learn help them navigate their own challenges, in and outside of the classroom. By breaking challenges into manageable pieces, our young girls, like Crystal, are not just solving problems, they're ???????????????? ??????????????? ???? ??????????????. We LOVE hearing about how alumna are blending STEM skills and creativity to thrive in their personal and professional lives! Whether it’s debugging a program or navigating life’s challenges and opportunities, the STEM mindset of breaking down complexities into actionable steps is a game-changer. . . . #WomenInSTEM #EmpoweringFutureLeaders #STEMGirls #STEM #CodingConfidence

Meet Lindsey Daniels, one of our incredible STEM From Dance Camp facilitators. Lindsey’s journey started with a fine arts background, but her curiosity and love for interactive, tactile experiences led her to dive into creative tech during grad school. “I love working with STEM From Dance because it challenges the narrow view of STEM, especially when paired with the arts. It’s so fulfilling to expose students to new possibilities, while building their skills and confidence. My hope is that more girls will see a place for themselves in these fields.” Lindsey, thank you for your passion, dedication, and for inspiring the next generation of Black history-makers. The STEM world is brighter and more innovative because of you! . . . #WomenInSTEM #BlackHistoryMonth #BlackSTEM #DiversifySTEM

Join us today in celebrating the 9th Annual Global Celebration of Women and Girls in Science hosted by the United Nations! This year's theme is—Women & Girls in Science Leadership: A New Era for Sustainability! This global movement honors, celebrates, and acknowledges girls and women in science, and we encourage you to get involved. Here's what you can do: ? If you're a woman in STEM, talk to a young girl about your career path and passion for what you do. This can help her see that a career in STEM is an option for HER, too. ? Learn all about the movement at www.womeninscience.org ? Celebrate your STEM sisters! Give them shoutouts on social media, support their work, and show up for each other in the office! Cheers to a GLOBAL movement empowering girls and women to lead the STEM world! . . . #February11 #STEMgirls #STEMequity #ScienceGirls

Ask a successful adult, “How did you ???????? ?????"" and many of them will say: ""There was this one teacher, coach, camp counselor...who believed in ME and showed me what I could do."" At STEM From Dance, the adults we rigorously and strategically choose will one day be the names shared by the STEM leaders of our future. STEM From Dance Camps are more than just another way to fill a summer day. They are helping transform Black and Brown girls into the leaders of our future science, technology, engineering, and math initiatives and companies. If you know a girl who is interested in attending, or a woman who would be a great speaker at one of our camps, please share this post! With how fast our world spins, summer is just moments away! . . . #WomenInSTEM #WomenSupportingWomen #STEMGirls #STEM

“???????? ???? ?????? ???????????????? ??????????: ?????????????? ?????????? ?????? ???? ?????????????? ?????????????? ?????? ???????????? ???????? ?????????? ??????????, ?????????????? ?????????? ????????????????, ?????????? ??????????????????, ?????????? ????????????????????.” – ???????????? ????????????-??????????, ???????????????? ??????????-?????????????? ?????????? ???????????? ???????????????????? THIS is especially true in STEM. Below is just a small sample of the Black women who have left a legacy in STEM. Join us in celebrating and honoring the work of: ???? Katherine Johnson – NASA mathematician whose work made the first crewed spaceflights possible ???? Dr. Alexa Canady – First Black female neurosurgeon ???? Dr. Marie Daly – First Black woman to receive a PhD in chemistry in the US ???? Dr. Shirley Jackson – First Black woman to receive a PhD from MIT ???? Dr. Mae Jemison – First Black woman to travel to space ???? Mary Jackson – NASA’s first black female engineer And while incredible progress has been made thanks to their bravery and brilliance, we still have a long way to go. In 2021, Black women made up only 9% of the STEM workforce in the U.S. (National Science Foundation). However, girls who attend our Camps and programs report a 50% increase in positive views of STEM careers. In the future, STEM leadership roles should be filled with girls of color whose energy illuminates our classrooms and stages! Here’s to celebrating Black history, ?????? empowering the next generation of history-makers. . . . #BlackHistoryMonth #WomenInSTEM #InclusionMatters

Could sharing this post lead to creating the next Black or Brown woman CTO? Absolutely. If you are new here or been around since the beginning, please take a moment to watch our Founder @Yamilee Toussaint explain the power behind what we do—and most importantly WHY. Then share. Share it with a friend who has a daughter who may be unaware of just how much she could love STEM. Share it with a teacher who is passionate about making STEM relatable and accessible. Share it with a co-worker who is looking for a way to elevate the next generation of STEM leaders. Your little shares can make a BIG difference. . . . #WomenInSTEM #STEMGirls #ChangeMakers
