Hello all. I wanted to give a status on my situation since Hurricane Helene. Firstly, I am safe. Thank god. I fled Asheville, NC and am staying with loved ones in Zirconia, NC — which was also badly effected by the storm. We are fortunate to have established a functional living situation here, and I will be returning to Asheville soon. Tragically, many communities in Western NC are in dire straights. Asheville is battered. On a positive note, there are TONS of people helping and doing what they can to support those that are in need. Lots of free food being given out. People delivering resources to those that need them. If you have tried to reach me during the past week and I have not responded, I am sorry. Work has had to take the backseat for at least a little while longer. I will be focussing on my community and helping where I can for the time being. I will try to get fully reestablished and back online within the next two weeks. Sending everyone wishes of safety and positivity.

Going back to my roots and seeing some friendly faces along the way :) When people from one specialized field gather, there can be an incredible exchange of knowledge. I had the fortune of learning much form the many engineers and business leaders at JNC run by The Institute of Navigation. Between the innovations for novel techniques for ascertaining positioning information on land and in space, and the efforts made to tackle the challenges of GPS-denied environments, I got a friendly reminder of why I love the field of #PNT. It was also a real treat to see some of my former coworkers! It seems like yesterday that I was just down the hall form Michael Vilaboy and Joe Rolli — and now I am on my own, building StellaScope. The challenges are tough, but it is amazing to see my efforts materialize into something truly one-of-a-kind.

A little while ago we posted that there was progress on Voyager 1… Well there is amazing news!! Through some clever engineering, teams were able to devise a workaround for the corrupted code that was causing incoherent data to be sent back.
