Just before the break last year, I had the opportunity to speak at the National Disability Services Executive Leaders Conference, about connected care solutions that extend beyond traditional facilities, bringing advanced monitoring and support directly into people's homes. One of the demos I showed was a simple patient centric digital twin that illustrated how caregivers could unobtrusively monitors someone's wellbeing. As I move around the room in the demo, Millimeter Wave Radar technology tracks my movement and position throughout the region automatically detecting events such as bed transfers and falls. Additionally, a Bluetooth-enabled continuous glucose monitor (CGM) provides real-time blood glucose monitoring and alerting. A separate demonstration featured a smart medication dispenser monitoring medication adherence. A significant challenge in the IoT landscape is standardizing data streams from various vendor products. To address this, we're using the Garnet Framework, which standardizes captured data for real-time analysis and alerts. This framework also enables post-incident natural language queries using generative AI (which I'll show in a future video).
