Transforming a Tax and Client Advisory Services CPA Firm into the Future
We are in the process of digitizing our firm. It has been a process for several years, but we are definitely getting closer. Our challenge is to grow with our clients as they shift from the expectations of a 2010 Accounting Firm to a mid 2020's Accounting Firm.
Do we choose to work with a business that is not using a SAAS/Online Accounting platform such as Quickbooks Online, Xero.com, Wave Online or something more advanced?
Do we work with a taxpayer that is not willing to receive their tax return by PDF/Portal only?
How do we digitize and automate the intake process to get client data into our firm?
We have some clients that tell us it is about time and others that absolutely resist. Being in the local CPA Tax and Accounting Firm business for years, it feels like we are in a time period of extreme change in this arena and within a few years, paper based clients will have to look hard to find a firm willing to operate in a paper system. Interesting times to navigate.
