For decades, Steinberg Hart has been at the forefront of designing spaces that cater to the evolving needs of seniors, seamlessly blending luxury with functionality. Wealthier Americans are increasingly seeking upscale living options for their later years, as highlighted in this recent The Wall Street Journal article featuring Vi Palo Alto—a luxury senior living community designed by Steinberg Hart, adjacent to the Stanford University campus. We are proud to lead the way in creating forward-thinking senior living spaces that prioritize comfort, elegance, and sustainability. Completed nearly 20 years ago, Vi Palo Alto stands as a testament to our commitment to high-quality design that prioritizes residents’ well-being, remaining as relevant and sought-after today as it was when it first opened. As demand for sophisticated, purpose-driven senior communities continues to grow, we are building upon that legacy with the upcoming opening of Ellore Santa Clara—a state-of-the-art senior living tower that will set a new benchmark in luxury and care. #SeniorLiving #LuxuryDesign #SteinbergHart #TheVi #ElloreSantaClara #FutureOfSeniorLiving #InnovativeDesign #SeniorHousing #SustainableDesign #LuxuryLiving Article by Ansberry Clare https://lnkd.in/g2kESC8H

50 years after the completion of Minneapolis' iconic Orchestra Hall, home to the Minnesota Orchestra, Steinberg Hart Partner, Malcolm Holzman shared his unexpected inspiration for his design: "To achieve the best acoustics, [the acoustical designer] suggested coffers on the ceiling. We thought that was too traditional, [so he] suggested taking inspiration from origami. We started folding paper, but that didn’t really work either. One day, as we were searching for a solution, for reasons I still can’t explain, Marvel Comics popped into my mind..." A fun article by Joel Hoekstra in AIA Minnesota, linked here! https://lnkd.in/gwxt9AxY
A writer's path often leads to unexpected places. A recent assignment about a children's museum in Wisconsin put me in contact with Malcolm Holzman, one of the architects who designed Minneapolis's Orchestra Hall in the early 1970s. I couldn't resist asking him some questions about the development of that iconic building. The interview was delightful, but the biggest surprise came when I asked him about the inspiration for the cubes that give the hall its lauded acoustics. Hint: The muse sprang from Marvel Comics. Intriguing, right?! The piece, published in AIA Minnesota's Enter, is linked in the comments. Enjoy!

This week, in partnership with our clients at Los Angeles World Airports, Steinberg Hart Senior Associate, Michael Sweeney, Director of Planning, Benedetta Del Vecchio, and Designer, Eric Swanson, ran workshops at Polytechnic High in Van Nuys for World Architecture Day. Through the ImpactLAX Youth Program, LAWA connects with and creates opportunities for K-12 students in local Title 1 schools near both LAX and the Van Nuys airport. These World Architecture Day workshops aimed to give students exposure and first-hand understanding of the ways in which architects and planners are responsible for the architecture and urban design that surrounds us, and how design impacts and influences daily life.
