Among them, 24 exceptional teachers were honored as “Teacher Ambassadors”, serving as pivotal figures in promoting AI and STEAM education. These educators not only impart knowledge but also inspire their peers and students, becoming catalysts for educational transformation. ?? Held at Hanoi University of Science and Technology, the event gathered a vibrant group of educators to explore creative and AI-powered teaching through hands-on experiences. With around 50 participants across two dynamic sessions - 30 education leaders in the leadership session and 20 teachers in the workshop, the event sparked lively discussions and fostered meaningful collaborations between leaders and educators. ?? ?? [STEAMese Festival 2024] Amplifying Equal Access and Inspiring the Next Generation of Young Women in STEAM! STEAMese Festival 2024 proudly set the stage for an inclusive future, addressing long-standing gender disparities in STEAM education. In Vietnam, as in many countries, cultural norms and stereotypes often deter young girls from pursuing STEAM by perpetuating the misconception that they lack the skills needed for curiosity-driven, problem-solving careers. The STEAMese Festival took bold steps to challenge these biases and empower girls to see themselves as future leaders in STEAM fields. ?? This year, STEAMese Festival 2024 brought together children, parents, and educators from across Vietnam to promote early and equal STEAM education. Through interactive exhibits like Coding Maze, AI Kingdom, and Robotics City, the festival demonstrated how access to STEAM knowledge can help every child thrive, regardless of background or gender. Ngoc Ngan Giang, a 7th-grade student attending the festival, shared her dream: "Near my house, there is a friend with autism. I want to create a robot that can befriend children so they won’t struggle with psychological issues. I’ve realized that no subject is difficult or boring; we just haven’t found the right way to learn it. That’s why I want to create an app to help friends who find science challenging, making them enjoy these subjects." UNICEF Vietnam representative Silvia Danailov emphasized the significance of the event, saying, “Investing in STEAM education and essential skills for young people is critical to ensuring they are prepared for future demands. This commitment to equal access to education aligns deeply with UNICEF’s mission for Vietnam.” ?? Robotics CS201: Empowering Vietnamese Students with Future-Ready Skills At STEAM for Vietnam, we are committed to equipping Vietnamese students with the cutting-edge knowledge and skills they need to thrive as global citizens. Robotics CS201 is a key part of this mission—offering a free, world-class course designed to build a solid foundation in robotics and inspire the next generation of innovators. In partnership with the U.S. Mission in Vietnam and Hanoi University of Science and Technology (HUST), Robotics CS201 delivers a comprehensive and up-to-date curriculum. Students will engage with robotics excitingly and interactively, using 3D simulation software, Webots, to learn without the need for personal robotic hardware—ensuring equal access for all. ?? The course focuses on developing critical skills such as: - Logical and critical thinking - Problem-solving - Creative thinking Collaboration and teamwork ? Students will also benefit from expert instruction, with experienced teachers and professionals in the field offering guidance. As part of the program, students will have the opportunity to visit leading research centers and companies, gaining valuable insights into the world of robotics and technical sciences. This experience not only enriches their learning but also serves as career guidance for those interested in pursuing a future in STEM fields. ??
