It was an honor to be a speaker at the inaugural "Silicon Forest Tech Summit" last weekend. Despite the icy conditions and lingering snow, nearly 400 individuals gathered to delve into topics like mentorship, sponsorship, access, equity, and the tech landscape in Portland and beyond. Personally, being part of this event was truly invigorating. Often, I find myself traveling far and wide to participate in such gatherings, so having this well-organized and enriching experience just 10 minutes from my home was truly special. The turnout, especially in the aftermath of challenging weather, underscores the community's eagerness and commitment to these pivotal moments of connection and learning. Thank you to all who made this happen, who shared their expertise and insights, and to those who made it possible for me to be included. I'm already looking forward to next year! ? What an inspiring and fun day today at the STEAM CIRCUIT Silicon Valley Tech Summit! Felt great being on that stage doing a Lightning Talk representing Free Geek in front of my peers and friends doing amazing work in this city.
