Yesterday was a powerful reminder that community matters more than ever. Some of our GoFundMe team, including Lili Strasser and Leigh Lehman, had the honor of attending the Lumen Awards, presented by The Impact Lounge. It was an inspiring event, celebrating individuals, organizations, and films making a significant impact, many of whom have been key players in the LA wildfire relief efforts. A huge thank you to The Impact Lounge for partnering with us on fundraising. A portion of ticket sales went to the?GoFundMe.org?Wildfire Relief Fund, which continues to provide grants to those recovering from the devastating fires. It was especially meaningful to invite members of our GoFundMe and Classy families to join us, including: ?? Kim Burbank from Pasadena Humane ?? Pete Corona, one of the creators of the Latino Wildfire Aid Fund and the Displaced Latine Families Directory ?? Marco Covarrubias and Erica Liepmann of Inclusive Action for the City, who launched the Open Air Workers Emergency Fund ?? Glen L. Friedman and Wade Trimmer of The Change Reaction, a?GoFundMe.org?grantee and partner Thank you to everyone who continues to drive meaningful change ??

What if your biggest advocate is already looking for you? Arnie Katz has the answer. In his new article for The Chronicle of Philanthropy, GoFundMe’s Chief Product and Technology Officer explores how organizations can utilize GoFundMe’s tools to reach new audiences and activate supporters like never before. With 190+ million people in the GoFundMe community, your next lifetime donor or ambassador is already here. You just need to give them the tools they need to rally for your cause. Read Arnie’s article below to see how nonprofits are stepping into the future!
Nonprofits, we’re activating GoFundMe’s community of 190 million people to help you. The nonprofit sector is facing a defining moment. Economic and funding uncertainty, shifting donor behaviors, and rising acquisition costs have made it harder than ever to engage supporters and sustain impact. At the same time, how people give is evolving. That’s where GoFundMe can step in to help. We’re launching and developing new tools to help you meet supporters where they’re already advocating, sharing, and inspiring their own communities to take action. I’m excited to walk through some of these innovations in this op-ed for The Chronicle of Philanthropy. Check out the story to see how nonprofits can easily leverage these new tools to connect with their audience: https://gfme.co/4gZ0DV9 One that I’m particularly eager to highlight is Nonprofit Pages, a free dedicated space to share your mission and connect with new supporters. I’ll leave a link with more information in the comments. GoFundMe’s mission is to help people help each other, and a big part of that is supporting the important work of nonprofits. We've proudly supported over 70,000 nonprofit organizations, and in the past year alone, more than $130 million was raised for charities through our platform. We’re thrilled to help nonprofits connect with passionate supporters who are ready to take action. The audience is already here, let’s make sure they see you.

?? Exciting news! We’re thrilled to welcome some incredible organizations to the Classy community! These nonprofits join thousands of others who use Classy to engage supporters, build strong communities, and amplify their impact. Here’s a closer look at their inspiring missions: ? SEAL Legacy Foundation supports the families of wounded and fallen U.S. Navy SEALs through educational assistance, charitable initiatives, and community-focused programs. ? SOME (So Others Might Eat) breaks the cycle of poverty and homelessness in D.C. by providing material aid, programs, and services to vulnerable individuals. We’re inspired by the transformative work they’re doing and can’t wait to see the campaigns they create with Classy. Have any tips or advice for these amazing organizations? Drop them in the comments below. We’d love to hear from you! ??

Gen Z has many superpowers, including social sharing. That is a hugely important superpower at GoFundMe. We know from our research that every time an organizer shares their fundraiser, it can help drive an additional $100 toward their goal, on average. As we keep innovating, we are thinking about how people use our platform and ways we can help them be successful. That inspired the Social State of Giving report, which dove deep on how the generations think about giving in the age of social media. I love how passionate Gen Z is about helping each other identify actionable ways to create change. They have helped inspire some of our new tools, like the streaming widget, so they can more easily spread the word in ways that feel natural to them. There’s a lot of great stuff in the report, check it out here: https://lnkd.in/g8MDhCbC
