?? PORT SPOTLIGHT: Port of Long Beach Home to STAX’s headquarters, we built our very first barge at the Port of Long Beach in 2022.? Today, we have three barges on-site (with more coming soon) and a dedicated peer, servicing container, autocarrier (ro-ro) vessels, and soon, tankers. STAX also holds exclusive service agreements with several terminals in Long Beach, including Toyota North America, SSA Marine, and Olympus Terminals LLC. With 22 terminals, the Port of Long Beach is the second busiest port in the United States—just behind the Port of Los Angeles. Each year, it handles more than 2,000 vessel calls, making it crucial for the port to have options for at-berth vessels to control their emissions. Across the entire state of California, STAX has: ? Serviced 151 vessels; ? For more than 5,336 hours; and, ? Controlled 41 tons of pollutants—and counting!! Learn more about how STAX controls emissions reduction technology across the state of California: staxengineering.com. STAX is expanding into #CarbonCapture! Last week, we announced a partnership with UK-based, carbon-capture company Seabound alongside our funding announcement. We are trialing the integration of Seabound's technology into the STAX system—the first step to creating the most comprehensive emissions capture system on the market. Here’s how it works: ?? First, STAX connects to a ship’s exhaust pipe(s) and filters out 99% of particulate matter and 95% of nitrogen oxides—pollutants that cause damage to the local environment and the health of surrounding communities—to release a purified gas. ?? The purified gas is then directed into Seabound’s capture unit, which isolates and stores the ship’s carbon and sulfur emissions before the cleaned exhaust gas enters the atmosphere, reducing the vessel’s overall greenhouse gas footprint. Say hello to STAX Barge Dispatcher Joseph Lozano! With extensive experience navigating the complexities of port logistics, Joseph brings valuable expertise to STAX. Before joining STAX last year, Joseph built an impressive career as a boarding agent and vessel manager, facilitating vessel operations at major ports like San Francisco, Seattle, Los Angeles, and Long Beach. In his role as Barge Dispatcher, Joseph ensures our operations run smoothly by managing schedules, coordinating with agents and port schedulers, and keeping our crew aligned. Currently, Joseph is working closely with port and terminal schedulers to prepare for the deployment of STAX barges to new locations—an exciting step forward for our company and the industry. When asked what he enjoys most about working at STAX, Joseph said: "The mission for clean air and energy in the ports and for the communities surrounding them is what truly inspires me. Not only do I get to help make the community better, but we are the trendsetters for a new mandate that will shape the future of this industry." We’re proud to have him on board! #Innovation #Sustainability #MaritimeCareers #GreenJobs #FortheFuture
