On 26 August 2024 Stavatti submitted a response to the US Navy Request For Information (RFI) for Undergraduate Jet Training System (UJTS) Fielding: Serial Number 24-0015/UJTS. The response to the solicitation (NAVAIR RFI Serial Number 24-0015/UJTS) was submitted to Thomas Conrow, Procurement Contracting Officer, Department of the Navy Program Executive Office, PMA-273 Naval Air Systems Command, Patuxent River, MD 20670. An e-mail confirming the receipt of the Stavatti submission was provided by Mr. Conrow on August 27th. Stavatti presented the SM-31T Stiletto as our UJTS solution. The SM-31T can serve as a UJTS and a successor to the T-45 providing intermediate and advanced air training for undergraduate United States Navy (USN) and United States Marine Corps (USMC) jet aviators and flight officers. The Stavatti SM-31T solution included the delivery of 145 SM-31T aircraft and 40 ground based simulators. Proposed deliveries of the SM-31T will begin in 2028 with completion in 2033. T he SM-31 Stiletto is a single engine, next generation advanced supersonic trainer and Light Weight Fighter (LWF). Now under development by Stavatti as a privately funded, commercial program, the SM-31 Stiletto is intended to address anticipated future needs of both the United States, NATO and Allied Air Forces. The Stiletto will be produced as both a two seat tandem Supersonic Trainer (SM-31T) as well as a single seat Light Fighter (SM-31S) with an internal weapons bay. Stavatti is proposing the SM-31T for the UJTS need including aircraft and full spectrum logistical support (maintenance, training, etc.) on-site at Government facilities. Addressing a potential need to replace 145 to 221 USN T-45A/C Goshawks on a one-for-one basis, the SM-31T may enter production and begin deliveries as early as 2026-2028. The Stavatti SM-31T will be produced at a Stavatti aircraft manufacturing plant in the USA in full compliance with the Buy America Act being 100% “Made in the USA.” The first SM-31 prototype air vehicle will be produced at our Niagara Falls headquarters and prototype development center located at 9400 Porter Road, Niagara Falls, NY 14304. Stavatti is also proposing the SM-31N Stiletto for the UJTS requirement. The SM-31N is a navalized, advanced supersonic trainer variant of the single engine, two seat tandem SM-31T Stiletto Supersonic Trainer and Light Weight Fighter aircraft. The SM-31N will feature carrier suitable arresting gear and a single F125X or F125XX derivative afterburning turbofan powerplant. The SM-31N will have a flyaway cost in the $23 Million class with an estimated CPFH of $3,204 and 3.46 MMH/FH. The SM-31N is anticipated to be available for production deliveries in 2028 meeting the USN requirement to have a UJTS solution suitable for fielding in 2028. Stavatti has secured Letters of Intent (LOIs) for the delivery of over 60 SM-31 Stilettos by US Allied Air Forces and was awarded the Design Patent for the SM-31 by the USPTO on 23 July 2020.
