We are very pleased to announce the promotion of Greg Jones to the position of Supervisor Training/Development (Education) in the Training Department. He has been a member of the Stater Bros. Markets team for 37 years and will report to Director Training/Development Laura Jones. In this role, Greg will be responsible for overseeing educational degrees and certificate programs that enhance the skills and knowledge of all teammates. He will maintain and establish strategic partnerships with colleges and educational institutions which will provide educational opportunities within the organization. Greg will also continue in his role as the company’s main point of contact for the WAFC Retail Management Certificate Program. Greg began his career at Stater Bros. in 1987 as a Courtesy Clerk at #95 Fontana/Arrow. In 2006 he was promoted to Loss Prevention Receiving Auditor in the Security Department. In 2015, he transitioned to the Training Department as a District Retail Trainer and in 2022, he was promoted to Senior Training/ Development Specialist. Greg earned a Bachelor of Arts in Interdisciplinary Studies, cum laude, from Cal Poly Humboldt and an Associate of Arts in Art from Cerritos College. We are very pleased to announce the promotion of Leslie Pena to the position of Manager Human Resources in the Human Resources Department. She has been a member of the Stater Bros. Markets team for 29 years and will report to Director Human Resources Operations Trisha Nelson. In this role, Leslie will oversee and manage HR’s day-to-day operations including recruitment and hiring, implementation of HR policies and procedures, and ensuring compliance with employment laws and regulations. Leslie began her career with Stater Bros. in 1995 as a Courtesy Clerk at #24 Del Rosa in San Bernardino and in 2004, she was promoted to Bookkeeper Office General Merchandise Clerk at #36 40th Street in San Bernardino. In 2017, she moved to the corporate office as an HR Clerk in the Human Resources Department and in 2019, was promoted to HR Assistant. Leslie was promoted to her most recent role of HR Coordinator in 2023. She is currently working toward a degree in Business Administration at San Bernardino Valley College.
