The U.S. #solarenergy sector continues its remarkable rise, with solar power generation increasing by 22.5% year-over-year as of September 2024, now contributing 6.63% of the nation's electricity. Leading this charge are 15 states that achieved over 50% growth in solar generation in the past year. South Dakota tops the list with an incredible 7,067% increase, thanks to its first utility-scale solar facilities. Other standout states include West Virginia (347%), Ohio (126%), and Arkansas (116%). Many of these states, previously lagging in solar capacity, are catching up rapidly with ambitious projects. Interestingly, Maine and New Mexico, part of this high-growth group, now derive over 10% of their electricity from solar, showcasing leadership in adoption.
