The Staten Island Industrial Alliance (SIIA) was proud to participate in Local Content New York Local Content Insights Series, powered by Vineyard Offshore. This incredible event, hosted by May Ship Repair Contracting Corp., brought together a full house of small business owners, nonprofit leaders, and stakeholders to explore supply chain opportunities in New York’s manufacturing and offshore wind sectors. Here’s a quick overview of what was discussed: ? 81% of stakeholders remain neutral on offshore wind—an opportunity to educate and engage more local voices. ? Vineyard Offshore’s Excelsior Wind Project will deliver $2.6 billion in direct economic benefits and create 2,000+ direct jobs. ? Over 50% of attendees were not registered in key supply chain databases like NYSERDA’s Offshore Wind Supplier Database—an opportunity for increased local business participation. Attendees explored supply chain resources, regulatory compliance strategies under New York’s CLCPA, and the importance of public sentiment in advancing economic development. We thank Local Content for organizing this impactful event and Vineyard Offshore for their support of local businesses in the clean energy sector. ??
