"Women’s History Month reminds me of the strength and resilience of women everywhere, including my own journey in India, where we call women 'Shakti,' meaning power." Engineering Manager Radha reflects on Women’s History Month and what it means to her. At just 17, Carolina Espinoza became a single mother. From that moment on, she knew failure couldn’t be an option. She drew inspiration from her parents' strong work ethic and their belief that she could achieve anything she set her mind to. "After many sleepless nights, I completed six years of schooling in just four. During my junior year, I interviewed for a finance internship with State Farm and still recall the moment walking into corporate, feeling the rush of possibilities. "The right people were put in my path who genuinely cared and wanted to see me succeed. Through these mentorships, I learned about the best gig State Farm offers!” Now as a State Farm independent contractor agent, she believes it's important to surround yourself with those that help grow your mindset. "As a mother to three girls, I want them to know they can achieve anything. My career as an agent has provided me with continuous learning and challenges that I crave. Steven Gardner was working as a district manager, overseeing more than 15 corporate retail stores, when a recruiter from State Farm reached out. At first, he dismissed the conversation until he discovered that being a State Farm independent contractor agent meant owning a business. "Taking a similar approach to my experience in corporate retail, I started from the ground up as an agent team member. I realized it was essential to understand my team's roles before I could effectively hire and manage them." Vince Adams, a State Farm independent contractor agent and affectionately known in his community as “Bow Tie Jake,” has been a good neighbor for 37 years. His agent career has given him an additional platform to channel his zeal and passion to serve others. "I’m blessed with an awesome team that shares my sentiment in making a meaningful impact in the community. Whether it’s singing the National Anthem, running a booth at a festival, or speaking at a high school, I’m eager to get involved.” Vince encourages us to use our gifts and talents to help make the world a better place.
