Have you saved the date for the March 20 hiring event at Wesley Bolin Plaza (10 a.m.-2 p.m.) that will showcase hundreds of job opportunities in state government? ?? Here's what KTAR (Bonneville Phoenix - KTAR News, Arizona Sports & ESPN) had to say about the event: "Jobseekers without degrees or professional certifications shouldn’t be discouraged from showing up. While some employers will require those credentials, most are focusing on skills-based hiring. That’s because Arizona is part of the “Transformers in the Public Sector” initiative. This coalition of state governments is focused on helping people with valuable skills they developed through alternative routes — such as on jobs or through military service — find jobs. “It’s clear that our nation’s veterans are the best of the best,” Arizona Department of Administration Chief Human Resources Officer George McNeely MBA said in a Monday news release. “They deserve our support.” Many of the people served through this initiative are veterans. However, it also benefits people who have learned various skills through on-the-job experience." Read the whole story ?? Opportunity@Work #veterans #opentowork
