Exciting times for the State National Women's Network! Last month, a group of our members journeyed to Austin, TX, for the 2024 Texas Conference for Women, joining over 7,000 attendees to explore the theme of "Power in Unity." The Texas Conference for Women is a nonprofit organization that offers women educational opportunities for personal and professional development. This dynamic event offered a wealth of experiences, from inspiring keynote speeches by icons like Isabel Allende, Tabitha Brown, Sara Blakely, and Julia Louis-Dreyfus, to breakout sessions on prioritizing health and wellness, community support, and positive self-talk. Attendees also engaged with women entrepreneurs who have turned their passions into thriving businesses. Recently, the SNC Women’s Network hosted a mix and mingle event to share takeaways from those who attended, highlighting the profound impact of hearing from successful women navigating modern challenges and the diverse paths available for career advancement. We've wrapped up another fantastic Employee Appreciation Week (EAW) at State National, where our theme "Refresh, Reset, and Reconnect" inspired a week full of exciting activities and heartfelt gratitude! ?? A huge thank you to our amazing employee-led EAW committee who work hard all year long to strategize, plan, and execute this exciting and fun-filled event. Our week kicked off on Monday with a delicious breakfast and friendly competition with games including BINGO, trivia, Loteria, Family Feud, and guessing jars, setting the tone for our "refresh" theme. On Tuesday, we took some time to "reset" with relaxing yoga sessions in Ledbetter Park and a refreshing afternoon treat of Italian ice and custard. For "reconnect" Wednesday, we enjoyed lunch together in the park from a selection of food trucks. One of the biggest highlights of EAW each year is our Thursday night event, and this year's festivities at the Fort Worth Zoo were the perfect wrap-up to our week of celebration. Employees and their families had the chance to explore the zoo, enjoy a BBQ dinner, act silly and get some commemorative pics at the photobooths, and have fun with face painting and caricature artists — plus plenty of prizes to add to the excitement! Thanks to everyone who participated, volunteered, and made this week so special, and to State National leadership, who are truly dedicated to showing their gratitude for the work we do and whose support for this cherished annual tradition means so much. It was definitely “spooky season” last week at SNC as our teammates once again exercised their abundant creativity in our annual Halloween Costume Challenge ???? This is an event our employees look forward to all year and the competition is fierce! Congratulations to our three individual winners and to our PAR (Program Analysis & Reporting) department for being “spot on” in conquering this year’s department challenge! Right on the heels of Halloween was Día de los Muertos, which we also celebrated in true SNC style. Big thanks to our UN1DOS Employee Resource Group for once again creating a Day of the Dead ofrenda to honor the loved ones and pets shared by SNC employees — three times as many offerings as last year! — plus delicious Pan de Muertos and information about the history and meaning of the holiday ? #Halloween #CostumeParty #DiaDeLosMuertos #tradition #celebrations

It was an exciting race to the finish as the State National team rowed tirelessly to an impressive placement at the 15th annual DFW Dragon Boat, Kite, and Lantern Festival at Lake Carolyn last weekend! ???
