Congratulations to the Texas Center for Legal Ethics on their 35th anniversary! TCLE has a special gift for all Texas attorneys to celebrate the occasion—one hour of free ethics CLE. In this CLE, Judge Audrey Moorehead interviewed former Chief Justice Nathan L. Hecht, who recently retired after serving 36 years on the Supreme Court of Texas, the last 12 as chief justice. Judge Moorehead spoke with Chief Justice Hecht about the journey from his childhood to becoming the longest-serving member of the Supreme Court in Texas history, the importance of legal ethics and professionalism in Texas, and more. “As we approach the beginning of a new bar year, all Texas litigators are encouraged to add meaningful and thoughtful conferences to their customary practice. Take an opposing lawyer to lunch at the beginning of a case and get to know them. Read over the Texas Lawyer’s Creed and think about ways you can work together.” In the March issue of the Texas Bar Journal, State Bar of Texas Professionalism Committee Chair William G. Hagans gives insight into the goals of the Texas Lawyer’s Creed and shares background on why professionalism is needed in the legal profession. https://lnkd.in/gM7WVHhm

“For Texas attorneys, staying competent in the digital age isn’t optional. Social media evidence is here to stay, and the courts are still catching up. Texas’ approach aims to balance practicality with fairness. But with questions about reliability and ethical concerns looming large, the road ahead is far from smooth.” In the March issue of the Texas Bar Journal, Terrazas PLLC litigator Eric Hudson discusses social media in litigation and how social media evidence is handled in Texas. https://lnkd.in/gpWutSX8
