Great learning ?? and connecting ?? at The Peter F. Secchia Breakfast Lecture at Seidman College of Business!!! ??
Enjoyed hearing from Anthony Chang, PhD of BAMF Health, Michael Marsiglia of Atomic Object, Danche Gjorgjievski of ADAC, and Keith Brophy of Mentavi Health.
And the ? , ?? , and ?? were good too! ??
Lessons on AI from the panel:
?? AI may have a similar curve like the 90s dotcom boom
?? It's not overhyped, and surprisingly it's taken longer to be adopted than anticipated
?? There's not enough #supplychain, #talent, and resources to continue serving a growing population and demand... AI can remove humans from the day-to-day and into more decision-making so we can scale and match demand
?? Information is not intelligence. AI can help move from one to the next, WITH humans.
?? When implementing: small wins, intentionality, fail fast, ask questions, build with empathy and integrity
?? AI is not a #differentiator, it's a tool that will get you back to parity with where everyone else is
?? Disruption is starting with technical (agents), moving towards knowledge (reasoning)
?? Experts are moving to becomming communication channels for AI
?? #Ethical issues are the number one risk and challenge, not #compute, not #energy
?? A diverse team (thinking, background, industry, etc.) working to incorporate AI can help mitigate the ethical risks and ensure it follows #corevalues
?? Embrace #change, and adopt a #mindset of continuous learning
?? Will the economy be able to keep up with the technology and scale of its possibilities?
?? It may be more difficult to foster #collaboration across people and teams as #AI can serve as someone's whole team alone
?? We need to focus on preserving #human to human interaction
?? Philosophy will become a larger need in education to make this all work well for everyone
From the audience:
?? What about data integrity & security? (get a sanctioned tool... ask lots of questions about where it's coming from... be careful to understand what you're working with)
?? What models are the winners? (it's too soon to pick a horse)
?? How about using AI for #policy and #government? (keep it people focused, use good #data)
?? What roles are needed in orgs around AI? (every company needs someone to own this in order to adopt smart, quickly, and coordinated)
