Success at UTS Startup Links Hackathon! We had an incredible HACKATHON where two dynamic entrepreneurs Ryan Nelson & Stefan Kent shared their startup journeys of Refilled , offering deep insights about startups. Their discussions sparked engaging conversations among our members at UTS. Our students demonstrated their critical thinking, creativity, and practical execution through presenting solutions to a commercial problem Refilled is solving. A huge congratulations to the winning team @NikhilYadav, Prajwalsingh Khalsa , Isaac Teres Espallargas , Jacob Mendez who wowed the entrepreneurs with their innovative solutions and strategic consultation. This event offered fantastic opportunity for networking, chance to develop essential startup skills. Events like this are what make UTS Startup Link a hub for innovation, opportunities, and collaboration in the startup ecosystem and students. Looking forward to more exciting initiatives that fuel the entrepreneurial spirit! #HackathonSuccess #Entrepreneurship #CriticalThinking #Innovation #Opportunities #Collaboration

Hey, I got the opportunity to take part in an amazing event hosted by StartUp Link UTS a week ago. The students who made a decision to join flooded me with enthusiasm and drive. In addition, as special guests, ?? Michael Batko, Ryan Nelson, Liam M. and Daniel Cannizzaro gave insightful advices and inspiring stories of individual achievements. I’m grateful you could make it! What a fantastic way to begin the semester!

I always love spending time with students, who are full of optimism, energy, curiosity, and potential! ?? Thank you StartUp Link UTS for the opportunity to speak on the ABCs for Startups panel alongside ?? Michael Batko, Ryan Nelson and Liam McEvoy, and our wonderful moderator Gigi Tsai ?? Here are some key discussion topics that stood out for me: 1?? What's the difference between a startup and a small business? ?? They're both hard, can have an impact, and be meaningful to pursue. The panel consensus was that startups should be focused on rapid growth ?? 2?? Does a start-up need to be a tech business? ?? It's not about being a tech business. It's about solving a problem that fulfils a customer need in a more effective, efficient, and / or value-adding way - tech is often applied to achieve this in a scalable way?? 3?? When's the right time to become an entrepreneur? ?? There's never a right time. Start too early in your career, you might shut off some structured career options that will be hard to pursue later. Start too late, your opportunity cost or cost of living requirements might become too high for you to take the risk to get started - and you might even miss out on the opportunity you wanted to pursue! IMO, it comes down to knowing your purpose, ambition, risk appetite, investing in building the learnings, networks, and experiences that'll help you succeed along the way, and what kind of life you want to live ?? Thoughts on the above? Would love to hear them. Feel free to share in the comments below ?? ?? credit:?? Michael Batko #startups #smallbusiness #startuplinkUTS

Yesterday's participation in the ABCs for Startups event hosted by StartUp Link UTS was truly an honour and a privilege. It was a remarkable experience to share the stage with ?? Michael Batko, Ryan Nelson, and Daniel Cannizzaro. Being part of a panel for the second time, I was truly amazed to be discussing alongside experts in their fields. Our conversation about the journey of creating a startup, including the challenges and successes, was thoroughly enjoyable. I was particularly impressed by the curiosity and insightful questions posed by many aspiring first-year students eager to embark on their entrepreneurial path. A big thank you to StartUp Link UTS for the opportunity, and I am excited for more such engagements in the future.
