??Architects in the Wild: Lessons from the Middleby Test Kitchen ?? Three of our Starrs traded design plans for aprons during a hands-on visit to the Middleby Test Kitchen in Dallas, TX. The goal? Explore the latest in kitchen innovation and get a firsthand look at how cutting-edge culinary tech is transforming the industry. Here are some of their takeaways: ?? Smart tech is impressive—until it outsmarts you. Middleby rolled out the red carpet of advanced kitchen equipment, and let’s just say, there was a learning curve. ?? Cooking competitions prove architects and designers plan better than they execute (recipes, that is). Timing is everything, and commercial kitchen timers wait for no one. ?? Redemption came at the omelet & pizza stations—because even bad pizza is still pizza. Some stations were more forgiving than others, and the DIY pizza station was a safe bet. Final thoughts: traveled for the innovation, stayed for the food, and left with a newfound respect for chefs—and a solid reminder that we’re much better at designing kitchens than working in them.????? #KitchenSurvival #MiddlebyTestKitchen #ArchitectsCooking #MiddlebyInnovationKitchens
