??????Here are some helpful Do’s and Don’ts for raking leaves safely to avoid injuries: Do’s Warm Up First: Stretch your back, shoulders, and legs to warm up your muscles. Wear Supportive Shoes: Choose shoes with good traction to prevent slips, especially if the ground is damp. Use Proper Gear: Wear work gloves to prevent blisters and layer up with comfortable clothing to adjust to temperature changes. Maintain Good Posture: Keep your back straight, bend your knees, and avoid bending at the waist. Move your entire body with the rake. Switch Sides Often: Change hands and positions every few minutes to avoid overworking one side of your body. Take Breaks: Every 15–20 minutes, take a short rest to avoid overexertion Use Tools Wisely: Consider an ergonomic rake suited to your height, and use a tarp to move large piles instead of carrying them. Don’ts Don’t Overreach: Avoid straining by moving closer to the leaves rather than stretching to reach faraway piles. Don’t Twist Your Torso: Step to each area you’re raking instead of twisting your body, which can strain your back. Don’t Overfill Bags: Keep bags or bins light to avoid lifting heavy loads, which could injure your back.
