Here’s a closer look at June’s story in her own words: - What inspired you to take on this business? "Taking on the family business was deeply personal. Growing up, my siblings and I worked alongside our father, an immigrant, watching him passionately build and nurture the business. He instilled in me a strong work ethic and a love for creating tasty and nutritious meatless foods. I wanted to honor his legacy while innovating to meet the evolving needs of today's consumers, blending tradition with a modern, fun, and convenient approach to food—all while carrying forward our family legacy." - What is the biggest challenge you've faced as a business owner? "The biggest challenge I've faced as a business owner has been balancing tradition with modern. It's a conscious and constant effort to stay true to our roots while adapting to evolving consumer preferences and keeping the business relevant and competitive. For example, I'm always exploring new ways to use traditional meatless ingredients to innovate products that are non-GMO, gluten-free, and still nutritious and tasty. I also find myself digging deep into my memories of the products I used to make, blending those experiences with new ideas." - What future goals do you have for Starlite? "I have many goals for Starlite. One is to expand our product line while staying true to our roots. I want to introduce more innovative, plant-based options that are nutritious, convenient, delicious, and fun. Ultimately, my goal is to continue evolving and growing the business in a way that honors our family legacy to make healthy plant-based food options accessible and affordable for everyone and every family." - What is your favorite Starlite Cuisine product? "Choosing my favorite Starlite product is like asking me who my favorite child is. Each one is unique, and I love them all differently. Right now, I really enjoy the "newborn," the Potato Jalape?o Cheese Taquito. I just had three for lunch today!"
