She was a self-described "black, lesbian, feminist, socialist, mother, warrior, poet" who dedicated her life and talents to confronting all forms of injustice, as she believed there could be "no hierarchy of oppressions". As a poet, she is well known for technical mastery and emotional expression, as well as her poems that express anger and outrage at civil and social injustices she observed throughout her life. As a spoken word artist, her delivery has been called powerful, melodic, and intense by the Poetry Foundation. Happy Pride! Today's quote comes from Gus Kenworthy, Olympic silver medalist. Gus is a British-American former freestyle skier, and has competed in slopestyle, halfpipe, and big air. Kenworthy won the silver medal in men's slopestyle at the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi. In October 2015, Kenworthy publicly came out as gay in an interview with ESPN, and became the first action-sports star to come out." He was in a relationship with Robin Macdonald, who was also involved in the ski industry, working in film and photography. The couple gained international media attention for their involvement with the issue of stray dogs in Sochi at the 2014 Winter Olympics. How to Make Spaghetti Squash 'Spaghetti' Looking for a low carb and calorie alternative to traditional pasta? Roasted spaghetti squash strands are an easy, healthy and flavorful option! (Full Recipe Below) Try this with my vegan-friendly Meatless 'Meat' Sauce made with Textured Soy Protein (aka TVP). You can find that recipe here: https://lnkd.in/g83rXwKt Spaghetti is rich in vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants. Due to its low calorie content and high fiber content, it may aid weight loss and digestive health. Similar to other winter squashes, spaghetti squash is a highly nutritious vegetable with low calorie content. With just 31 calories per 100 grams, it contains no saturated fats or cholesterol but is packed with dietary fiber, antioxidants, minerals, and vitamins such as vitamin A, B and C. Vitamin A is vital for healthy eyesight and may aid in protecting the body against lung and oral cavity cancers. Spaghetti squash is notably high in B-complex vitamins like folates, niacin, and vitamin B-6 (pyridoxine). It's also a modest source of minerals such as zinc, copper, calcium, potassium and phosphorus. Spaghetti Squash 'Spaghetti' Recipe: 1. Set your oven to 400 F (204 C). 2. Cut the squash lengthwise and scoop out the center part including the seeds with a spoon. 3. Place the halves of your squash face down on a roasting pan coated with parchment paper. 4. Roast the squash for 45-60 min (until the tops are beginning to brow and the squash itself is fork tender). 5. Allow to cool for 20 minutes. 6.
