In 2017, Joshua joined Project ESTEEM, full of ambition. He wanted his diploma and he wanted independence. However at the time he wasn’t attending school and did not have a job. With the support of his Workforce Navigator, Barb, he made it happen. Josh started by learning interview skills, landing a retail job right away. But he didn’t stop there—his passion for healthcare led him to a paid internship in environmental services at a local hospital. Still, he was eager to learn more. Balancing work and GED prep wasn’t easy, especially when a medical issue arose. But with Barb’s support and encouragement, Josh pushed through. And he did it—he earned his GED! ?? His hard work paid off. First, a job at a top manufacturing company in Rochester. Today, he’s thriving at a pharmaceutical company in Grand Island, recently earning a promotion to trainer! And the best part? Josh is building a bright future, not just for himself but also for his beautiful daughter. ?? Congratulations, Josh! Welcome to the Starbridge Board of Directors, Diveth Garcia! Born and raised in Puerto Rico, Diveth came to Rochester after Hurricane Maria in search of better educational opportunities for her children, especially her son who needed an individual education plan. Her deep involvement in her children's education in Puerto Rico fueled her passion for advocacy, inspiring her to champion the rights of children and families—particularly within the Latin community—in Rochester. Diveth holds a Bachelor's Degree in Office Administration, along with certifications in Medical Records and Youth Mental Health Aid. She is the President of the Bilingual Education Council, a PLTI graduate, and actively collaborates with organizations like The Children's Agenda and Latinas Unidas. Dedicated to providing support for families on all levels, she serves on multiple committees within the Rochester City School District and her church. Please welcome us in joining Diveth to the Starbridge Board of Directors.

A Month of Connection & Celebration! ???? February was filled with community, fun, and recognition! ?? Family Fun Swims continued at the @oleanymca , giving families time to connect and enjoy the water together in a sensory friendly safe space. ?? We attended the @greaterrochesterchamber Athena Awards, celebrating incredible women leaders, including our past Athena nominee, Elissa Burke, our Chief Program Officer, and all of this year’s honorees. ?? Our Winter Wonderland was a blast as Starbridge residential & community habilitation program participants brought the energy for another unforgettable bash! From groovy dance moves to impromptu singalongs and striking poses in our epic photo booth, the fun was unstoppable! ???? Community Habilitation participants were out and about, visiting local libraries and having a blast on game days. Thank you to everyone who made this month so special! ???
