Tackling Food Insecurity, One Donation at a Time ????? Did you know nearly one million people in Southeast Texas face food insecurity? That means many of our neighbors don’t have consistent access to nutritious meals. But you don’t have to be a football fan to make a difference in their lives. This fall, Star is teaming up with @Houston Food Bank to collect non-perishable food items, with a mission to help ensure everyone in our community has enough to eat. As we prepare for Thanksgiving and holiday celebrations, let’s not forget those who are struggling. This initiative is a chance to reflect on the spirit of giving and extend a helping hand to those in need. To add some fun, each of our stores is supporting their favorite Texas NCAA football team by creating spirited, social-media-worthy displays. This friendly competition is all about raising awareness and inspiring donations. ?? Welcome Our New Human Resources Director: Steve Stamper! We are thrilled to announce the newest addition to our team, Steve Stamper, who joins us as our Human Resources Director. With over 30 years of extensive experience in Human Resources across various industries, including engineering, construction, manufacturing, and retail, Steve brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to our organization. Steve’s impressive career includes supporting a four-state, 82-store region for Blockbuster, Inc., and starting his journey in a corporate HR role for Mercantile Stores Company, later acquired by Dillard’s. His vast experience in managing HR functions for large, multi-location operations will be invaluable as we continue to grow and evolve. Steve holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration with double majors in Human Resources Management and Organizational Behavior. He is a certified Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) from HRCI and a Certified Labor Relations Leader (CLRL) from Michigan State University. Additionally, Steve shares his expertise as a guest lecturer at the University of Houston’s Clear Lake (UHCL) campus, contributing to the development of future HR professionals. “I am extremely excited to be joining a Leadership Team that is so committed to the performance and growth of our individual employees and the Teams of which they are members.?The values and mission of the company have me looking forward to the journey we will travel together and the results we will achieve along the way.”
