I am blessed to contribute alongside other parents in the planning for the St. Anthony Catholic School playground redevelopment. It would not be possible without Rick Cavender, the Downtown SA Rotary Club, St. Anthony Catholic School leadership and coaches, and the playground committee. In the background you can see the existing play structure which will be replaced with a new larger structure to include new features within the “blacktop” space.

This very special St. Anthony Class of 2020 - our COVID class - continued the tradition of graduation photos on the steps of Old Main, but also participated in the clap out tradition that they did not receive as 8th graders. As this year's High School graduates (Class of 2024), they are moving on to pursue their individual goals in college and beyond! This class of 42 students produced ?? ???????? ???????????? ?????????????????????????? – which is the 5th Valedictorian (plus 2 Salutatorians) in the past 8 years – and ?? ?????????????? ???????? ??????????????????, a Class Vice President, a Class Secretary and a Parliamentarian. ???????????? ???????? of them graduated with a ?????????? ?????? ?????????? ??????????????????????. Almost all of them graduated High School with Honors. Over half started at St. Anthony in Pre-K and 100% are pursuing a post secondary education! In the next few weeks, we will recognize them for their accomplishments on our St. Anthony Catholic School Alumni Facebook page. Wondering how Saints graduates do in High School? We have now produced ?? ???????????????????????????? and 2 Salutatorians in the past 8 years that graduated from St. Anthony! Sophia Ramirez attended St. Anthony from PreK-3 to 7th grade. For her 8th grade year, she moved on to Young Women's Leadership Academy where she will graduate as the Valedictorian of the Class of 2024! Sophia is the captain and four-year member of the varsity volleyball team. ?? She was named Academic All-District her last three years of high school. She is the President of the Science National Honor Society, the Treasurer of Ballet Folklorico, a member of the National Honor Society, Mu Alpha Theta, the Spanish National Honor Society, the National Hispanic Institute and the YWLA Cardinal Senate. Sophia is an AP Scholar with Distinction, a Commended National Merit Scholar and won the Yale Book Award as a junior. Although Sophia is still undecided where she wants to go to college, she was automatically accepted to University of Texas Neuroscience program. We are extremely proud of you, Sophia! ????????-???? ???????????????? ???? ?????? ???????? - ?????????????? ???????????????? ?? As our STEM and Coding Program Coordinator, Ms. Martinez, wears multiple hats at St. Anthony. She also serves as our Extracurricular Coordinator, Elementary BEE Saints Garden Club Leader and coordinates the Girls Who Code program. She has been at St. Anthony for 15 years hanging served as our technology director, summer camp director, and after-school care coordinator. When asked to describe their experiences with Ms. Martinez, her colleagues say that she "...embodies Catholic Faith through her acts, and she is a woman of faith" evidenced by how “she is always helping others, even if it is not her duty".
