  • This week, we held our largest new hire orientation in company history, welcoming 9 new team members across East and Middle Tennessee! These hires span 5 different roles in our Transportation Infrastructure and ICU divisions, bringing fresh talent, diverse skill sets, and new energy to the Stansell team. As Chad Gapen, Senior Talent Manager, shared: “We’re not just hiring employees, we’re creating opportunities. With every new team member, we’re building a future full of possibilities and growth for all.” Here’s to the next chapter, and the people helping us build it. ⚡ #TeamStansell #NewHireSpotlight #StansellStrong #TransportationInfrastructure #ICU #GrowthInProgress #WelcomeToTheTeam

  • Last week, we hosted a GRIDSMART training in our East Tennessee office for both our employees and customers, and it was a huge success! Not only did our teams have the opportunity to deepen their knowledge, but we also got to strengthen relationships with the folks we work alongside every day. Investing in education and connection? That’s a win-win! Big thanks to Precision Traffic and Safety Systems, LLC for partnering with us to make it happen!

  • At Stansell, we talk a lot about how important relationships are, on our jobs, in our company, and in our communities. But sometimes, those relationships lead us to moments we never could have imagined. After the heartbreaking tragedy at The Covenant School in Nashville in 2023, where several of our owners and employees attend church, a group from Hawaii arrived in Nashville carrying a gift of healing: a one-mile-long lei, handwoven from thousands of flowers and leaves from across the Hawaiian islands. This was part of the Lei of Aloha for World Peace, a movement that brings sacred lei to places impacted by unthinkable loss—sharing love, comfort, and support from a community thousands of miles away. It was there David Stansell met Ron Panzo, the lead organizer who helped deliver this symbol of peace. What began as a small conversation in the midst of grief grew into a lasting friendship. Fast forward to February 2025, while attending the TRBA Annual conference in Hawaii, David reconnected with Ron, who welcomed our Stansell team like family. Ron opened the doors of his restaurant, Nalu’s Southshore Grill, so our team and TRBA friends could gather together. Through Ron, we met Danny, who joined us the surreal experience of canoeing off the coast of Maui, surrounded by whales. And through these same connections, we learned of the Kimokeo Foundation, led by our new friend Kimokeo Kapahulehua, who works to honor and preserve the history and culture of Hawaii through education and service. What began in heartbreak became something deeply meaningful, a reminder that the relationships we build have the power to carry us through the hard things and lead us to moments of healing, hope, and even joy. We’re grateful to our friends in Hawaii who showed up for Nashville during its darkest days and then opened their hearts to us years later. You’ve reminded us why people are always worth showing up for, and why relationships will always be at the core of who we are. Mahalo for the lessons, the friendships, and the reminder of what true community looks like.

Our team recently wrapped up work on a key piece of infrastructure supporting Ford’s $5.6 billion BlueOval City development, and it’s one we’re proud of. From installing 3,000+ feet of conduit to safely powering a remote intersection, this project challenged us to collaborate, innovate, and deliver, all while logging nearly 1,900 injury-free hours. Learn how our work is helping connect over 6,000 future employees to one of Tennessee’s most transformative projects. Read the full project highlight on our website: https://lnkd.in/eNyUVP4Q

  • While working near an I-40 East on ramp earlier this week , Stansell Electric Foreman, Hector Cruz noticed a small pickup truck had suddenly slowed down, smoke pouring from the hood, stranded with no flashers, no warning, and nowhere safe to go. An elderly man sat inside, helpless. Traffic was flying by. The risk was real. Without hesitating, Hector called to alert his supervisor, pulled his own work truck into position, turned on his flashers, and used his vehicle to shield the man from oncoming traffic. He got out and realized the driver’s phone wasn’t working. So Hector made the call himself, reaching out for emergency help and coordinating with Tennessee Department of Transportation's HELP truck to make sure the man wasn’t left behind or put in harm’s way. “Any vehicle getting onto the interstate could’ve collided with him. I just did what I had to do”, Hector says… as if there was no other option. He didn’t think twice. He didn’t look away. He protected a stranger’s life. That’s what leadership looks like. That’s what putting Injury Free first looks like. Thank you, Hector, for proving that the work we do goes far beyond the job. 👏

  • We recently surprised Cheyenne and her husband Cody with a baby shower at Maggiano’s Little Italy as they prepare to welcome baby Sophia! Cheyenne is a dedicated ITS Project Manager who consistently goes above and beyond for Stansell, and it was an honor to celebrate this exciting milestone with her. Special thanks to Terese for planning and executing such a thoughtful event, and to everyone who joined us in showing their support. It’s moments like these that remind us how lucky we are to have such a strong, caring team. We love you, Cheyenne, your Stansell family can’t wait to meet baby Sophia! 💕

  • In February, our Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) team achieved a 98.64% operational efficiency across nearly 950 traffic control devices maintained for Tennessee Department of Transportation. These devices include dynamic message signs, detection systems, cameras and more, all critical to keeping Tennessee’s roadways running smoothly. With nearly every device functioning as intended, this performance directly supports improved traffic flow, reduced congestion, and safer travel for drivers and pedestrians across the state. This achievement reflects the ITS team's ongoing commitment to maintaining reliable, high-performing transportation infrastructure.

  • Our commitment to "Grow our People" is more than just a statement; it's embedded in our DNA and drives our actions. As we expand, we recognize the necessity of developing our employees by providing them with the tools and opportunities to thrive alongside the company. Last week, we hosted our second Individual Development Plan (IDP) training session to empower our team members to chart their professional and personal growth. This session delved into the purpose and benefits of IDPs, emphasizing how they can enable career progression and enhance performance. By aligning our growth with the development of our people, we distinguish ourselves within and beyond our industry. It's initiatives like these that set Stansell apart, ensuring that as we build our company's future, we also build the futures of those who make it all possible. Our goal is that by 2030, internal employees will fill 75% of all non-entry-level positions. Through continuous investment in our team's development, we are confident in achieving this objective and fostering a culture where everyone has the opportunity to advance and succeed.
