Two surgical conferences in one week! #SAGES25 & #NorCalACS I had the privilege of presenting our lab's work on automating surgical video-based assessment for trainees using computer vision under the mentorship of co-PI's Teodor Grantcharov @Jeff Jopling & Serena Yeung. As surgical video review becomes integral to training, we must develop more objective and scalable assessment technologies. Grateful to SAGES for the opportunity to share our innovation in Long Beach CA! Huge shout out to my co-first author for his unbelievable talent Josiah Aklilu. Excited to share that our work was also recognized as a Top 10 abstract in the NorCal Chapter ACS 5th Annual Thomas R. Russell Trainee Research Award Competition—a fantastic showcase of trainee-led research. The future of surgical education and video based assessment is bright in sunny California!
