?? “The governing of our nation sits on a tremoring fault line, with the bedrock principles of liberty, justice, and equal protection under growing pressure on all sides. And in the tectonic shifts to come, a decision that we collectively make will answer whether our institutions, systems, and governing structures are sound enough to fulfill the nation’s promise… ?? “The decision before us is whether we stake a claim as rightful cofounders of the nation—the most powerful mantle the equity movement could take up—invoking not just the stewardship of government but also the cocreation of the entire social fabric. ?? “If the answer is yes, then our next revolution must be of the soul: developing both the collective and individual soul to love all.” PolicyLink’s Dr. Michael McAfee and Abbie Langston write about the radically inclusive love that can renew the mind and spirit of the nation and strengthen the bonds of mutuality that unite us in the common cause of universal human flourishing.

“Any law that applies to governmental organizations to maintain transparency and accountability should be applied equally to technology companies that execute tasks on behalf of the government.” In The Tech Coup, former politician turned AI policy analyst Marietje Schaake warns that governments have ceded too much power to Silicon Valley—to the detriment of the public good. ?? Business leaders can’t address climate change alone. As climate change becomes an ever-growing threat, business leaders face pressure to make their companies more sustainable. But at the same time, they confront downside risks in acting alone. Will their shareholders and investors support decarbonization if the business case is dubious and competitors may gain an advantage in not pursing it? Will their emissions reporting even be trusted without a standardized framework shared by industry peers? It shouldn’t surprise anyone when CEOs, acting alone and faced with such uncertainty, table sustainability efforts and pass responsibility to government regulators. But business leaders have an alternative: They can collaborate with each other to form alliances dedicated to sustainability.??? Matteo Gasparini, Knut Haanaes, Emily Tedards & Peter Tufano, authors of the fall issue feature story, “The Case for Climate Alliances,” interviewed alliance and business leaders to find the problems and opportunities with these collaborations. Read what they learned about the complex climate alliance landscape ? https://lnkd.in/esJhwwua “Climate alliances can create and aggregate credible demand signals, which in turn trigger positive externalities, and economies of scale and scope that accelerate the innovation, commercialization, and widespread adoption of green products across the economy.” #climatechange #business #collaboration #climatesolutions #leadership
