Thank you to our LBRE Safety Office Lizzette Vargas-Malpica, CSP Carol Galvin, Richard Sestokas, MS, CSP, Simone Schubert, and Jazlin Bautista for organizing and hosting today's wonderful Safety and Wellness event featuring The Game Changers Inc President Eric Boles. We were reminded that much like an acorn that holds the potential to grow into a magnificent oak tree—whose branches ultimately bear countless more acorns—our contributions to Stanford University resonate far beyond the boundaries of the campus.

After eight years of dedication, I am thrilled to share that the Portola Valley Town Council has unanimously approved Stanford's Portola Terrace housing community on December 5th. Despite facing challenges such as community opposition, the impact of COVID, and a complete turnover in Town staff, the project has come to fruition. The Portola Valley community has acknowledged the importance of expanding housing options, leading to Stanford's commitment to providing 27 new homes for faculty and 12 affordable housing units for the community. I extend special recognition to Terrance Grindall, the interim Planning Director for Portola Valley, and Stephanie B. Davis, Principal Planner at Good City Company, for their exceptional leadership and dedication in shepherding this project to approval by the Town Council. Additionally, I commend the collective efforts of the entitlement team, including Seigel & Strain Architects, Sandis Civil Engineers, Lutsko Land Scape Architects, H.T Harvey, Cornerstone, and Perkins Coie Land Use attorneys, for their unwavering professionalism and valuable support throughout this endeavor.
