This unique curriculum offers seamless clinical rotations across specialty areas, advanced coursework, mentorship, and the opportunity to complete an evidence-based capstone project. We are thrilled to introduce Dr. Michael Altamirano, PT our very first Stanford Health Care Acute Care PT Residency Program resident! Hailing from Morgan Hill, CA, Michael graduated from Samuel Merritt University and has a passion for building relationships with his peers and patients through active listening and compassion. He’s eager to strengthen his clinical decision-making skills and deepen his understanding of interprofessional teamwork. Outside of PT, Michael enjoys cooking and baking with his partner, spending time with family (and his two cats) and cheering on the San Jose Sharks! He also trains in Muay Thai and has a goal to compete in a kickboxing match by 2026! Welcome to the team, Michael! We are excited to see you lead the way in our acute care physical therapy residency program!
