Looking at where we're headed with #AI coding tools, I see a fundamental shift coming in software engineering: The next generation of successful engineers won't be the ones who write the most code. They'll be the ones who can read and evaluate the most code effectively. As models get better at generating basic implementations, the bottleneck shifts from production to evaluation. Can you quickly spot when a solution is heading in the wrong direction? Can you identify subtle issues that compile but will cause problems later? This creates an interesting challenge for teams. We've built our entire hiring and promotion systems around producing code. But that skill is becoming commoditized. Most companies haven't recognized this shift yet. They're still hiring for implementation skills when they should be testing for code reading and judgment skills. For engineers building their careers now: invest in your ability to quickly understand code you didn't write. Practice reading unfamiliar codebases. Get good at rapidly evaluating solutions for hidden problems. The future belongs to engineers who can see clearly, not just type quickly.

It was very cool to be a part of the TEDCO Entrepreneur Expo last week in Baltimore. A highlight was hearing Governor Wes Moore speak so powerfully about Maryland's future as a major tech hub. I saw plenty of old friends, learned about some incredible new companies in the region, and met lots of people building great things in Maryland. I also got to have my portrait drawn by an AI-powered robot. All in all, an amazing day. Thanks to the whole team at TEDCO for an excellent event.

Big news! Standd just achieved SOC 2 Type 2 certification!??? Standd is an #AI team of experts for buy side companies and investors that helps them analyze opportunities and portfolio performance, optimize risk, collaborate with stakeholders, and win competitive deals in half the time. Even before we wrote a line of code, we knew data security would be of paramount importance for our customers. This certification is a huge achievement for our team and validates our commitment to providing best-in-class security across our platform. We are lucky to have Stephen Solka as our CTO, who expertly lead our efforts to achieve this important milestone. Thanks Stephen Solka. This means a lot, but I also think it's not the full picture. We've beaten flashier companies to customers because our product outperforms theirs. We hear it time and again -- Standd provides insights our competitors can't reach, and our financial analysis is more accurate than anything else in the market. Our deep understanding of our customers and their work has informed every interaction in Standd. And that's thanks to Stephen's brilliance and leadership. He's been working in AI for years, he keeps up with the articles, builds with intention, and cuts through the noise. He's helped us stay ahead of the market and build something exceptional -- and beat out our competitors in deal after deal. So I appreciate the kind words, but it's truly a team effort.

Ever notice how most #AI companies talk about what they're going to build? Meanwhile Julie Saltman 's been quietly leading Standd to beat companies 5x our size in competitive deals. Not with slides about future features. With real solutions shipping now. She spots market opportunities I'd miss completely. Turns technical capabilities into actual customer value. Makes hard calls that keep proving right. Want to understand where AI actually fits in finance? Talk to Julie. She's spent years in both worlds, turning abstract AI potential into concrete value for banks and VCs. When everyone else is still debating theories, she's showing exactly how this technology changes how deals get done. Easy to say your CEO is great. Harder to keep winning deals you shouldn't be able to win. Yet here we are. #founder #startup #fintech #vc

Wild thing I keep noticing in conversations: people are genuinely shocked when they see what AI systems can actually do. Know why? Everyone thinks AI is about uploading PDFs and getting summaries back. Quick questions, quick answers. That's what chat interfaces have trained us to expect. Two years ago at Standd, we made a bet: chat as a UX for AI is a dead end. Not because we're brilliant - we just forced ourselves to imagine alternatives. Now we're seeing it: systems producing in 30 minutes what takes teams weeks to create. Hundreds of pages. Deep analysis. Every aspect of a business covered. The shock is real. Every time. Chat has trained everyone to think small. 5 seconds to first token, 60 second responses. That shapes everything about how people think AI will impact their work. Promise you though - the future of knowledge work isn't chatting with AI. Chat is just where we all started. The real shift is from writing and analyzing to reviewing and deciding. From creating to directing. If you're still thinking AI is about document summaries and quick answers, you're about to be really surprised. Lets try some hash tags today. #AI #FutureOfWork
