?? Spring is Here… Or Is It? ?? This Thursday, March 20th, we officially welcome the Spring Equinox at 5:01 AM ET! Here in the Northeast, you know the real question is: Which season of spring is this? Fool’s Spring? Second Winter? Spring of Deception? Third Winter? Actual Spring? ???? Speaking of "Spring of Deception"… last week’s introduction of the American Innovation and R&D Competitiveness Act of 2025 had us wondering: Is this real progress or just another false start? If passed, the bill would be a game-changer—restoring immediate R&D expensing and even making it retroactive. While there is strong bipartisan support, the road to passage looks tough. We expect this to be part of broader tax negotiations, rather than passing as a standalone bill. Furthermore, with budget constraints and the magnitude of expiring tax provisions on the agenda, a retroactive fix might not be in the cards. Due to uncertainty surrounding timing, our recommendation at this point would be to file 2024 returns as planned. We’ll keep you posted every step of the way! In the meantime—Happy Spring!
