On Friday, October 25th, Stallergenes Greer hosted a Day of Service at our Lenoir, NC, and San Diego, CA facilities, bringing our team together to make a meaningful difference in our communities. This year, employees engaged in various heartfelt activities to make a positive impact on our communities: ? Our team created 30 warm fleece lap blankets and hand-drawn cards, to bring warmth and joy to elderly residents in local nursing homes. ? We sorted and packaged food for local non-profit organizations and donated clothing to help individuals prepare for the winter months. ? Personal care kits were sorted and labeled for donation to our local women’s and men’s shelters. ? We assembled 30 elevated dog beds and crafted 30 cozy fleece blankets to provide comfort and warmth for animals in local shelters. This incredible day underscored the power of community and compassion. The FARE Food Allergy Summit will take place in Washington, D.C. on October 18 – 20, 2024! This event brings together people who are impacted by food allergies for three days of educational sessions, insightful discussions and meaningful connections. On October 18, during the annual Clinical Development Day focused on “Addressing Unmet Needs in Food Allergy: Recent Advances, Ongoing Challenges, and Prospects for the Future”, Tibor Nemes, EVP Head of Americas at Stallergenes Greer, will participate in the panel discussion regarding food allergy diagnostic testing and diagnostic standards in the U.S. Globally, 200–250 million people are affected by food allergy[i]. Stallergenes Greer today announced that the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has approved Palforzia??[Peanut (Arachis hypogaea) Allergen Powder-dnfp],?for the treatment of toddlers (ages 1-3 years)?with a confirmed diagnosis of a peanut allergy. This approval expands the January 2020 FDA approval for patients ages 4-17 years. Palforzia? is to date the first and only approved oral immunotherapy treatment (OIT) for the mitigation of allergic reactions, including anaphylaxis, that may occur with accidental exposure to peanut. “We are delighted?that?Palforzia??has?received regulatory approval in the U.S.?for?toddlers as there is a high unmet medical need for this age group and we are confident that this indication extension will alleviate the burden of peanut allergy for younger patients and their families,”?says Elena Rizova, MD, PHD, Chief Medical Officer of Stallergenes Greer.
