Stalking is a crime. We empower service providers, campuses, and justice professionals to recognize it and respond.

关于我们

The Stalking Prevention, Awareness, & Resource Center (SPARC) is a federally funded project of AEquitas providing education and resources about the crime of stalking. SPARC aims to enhance the response to stalking by educating the professionals tasked with keeping stalking victims safe and holding offenders accountable. SPARC ensures that allied professionals have the specialized knowledge to identify and respond to the crime of stalking. As a comprehensive national resource center, SPARC provides a multi-faceted approach to programming. SPARC assists multi-disciplinary professionals with information, resources, and policy and protocol development through our technical assistance endeavors. SPARC also provides local, regional, statewide, and national trainings to U.S. Department of Justice Office on Violence Against Women (OVW) grantees and potential grantees. SPARC does NOT offer direct services to victims -- please contact Victim Connect (www.VictimConnect.org).

  • This week, SPARC Director Jennifer Landhuis and Senior Training & Awareness Specialist Dana Fleitman were honored and delighted to join with a few of the incredible stalking survivors who inspire us every day -- Caitlin Mathis, Aziza Murphy, Debbie Riddle, Lenora Claire, and Anna Nasset -- to celebrate the 30th Anniversary of the Violence Against Women Act (VAWA) in Washington, D.C.! VAWA was the first federal legislation providing resources to fund and promote community-coordinated responses around gender-based violence. Up for renewal every five years, each VAWA reauthorization has built on existing protections and programs to better meet the needs of survivors and expanded its services, reach, and population served. What a gift to reflect and celebrate the progress over the past 30 years and the countless survivors, mentors, advocates, and allies who have bravely led this movement. Now, back to work! #VAWA30 U.S. Department of Justice, The Office on Violence Against Women

  • From cartoons to thrillers, media misrepresentations of stalking often show this traumatic crime as romantic, funny, heroic, and/or edgy. While the media does not cause stalking, the cumulative effect of these portrayals contributes to the normalization and minimization of stalking -- with real world impacts for stalking survivors. Check out our new (short!) video to learn more! https://lnkd.in/eX947Qw5
