"Tariff" might be the word of the year so far in 2025. Just today, auto tariffs of 25%, as well as threats of added tariffs to copper products, are top of mind for investors and analysts. And this is all before potential reciprocal tariffs that could come early next month! When I sat down with Affirm CFO Rob O'Hare a couple of weeks back, he directly addressed a question from the Stocktwits community regarding how a high-tariff environment might impact their business. Here's what he said! Full interview, co-produced by Stakeholder Labs, in the comments!

There's been a TON of chatter this week around one BNPL player's move to partner up with DoorDash and make it possible to pay for food delivery in installments. (Axios: https://lnkd.in/ex6Pa9W2) BNPL accounts for 7.5% of all e-commerce transactions in the U.S. and 56% of Gen Z-ers and 50% of Millennials are using it. (Statista: https://lnkd.in/e4CyQuwi).) For Stocktwits, I spoke with Affirm's CFO to understand why their messaging is so focused on transparency as BNPL becomes more normalized in commerce. Here's what he had to say. By the way, one of the more nerdy aspects of the interview centers on the BNPL concept of "Pay in Four" -- this is a standard model where a payment is broken into 4 chunks. Affirm is aiming to differentiate by offering more flexible payment options (e.g. pay over 12-18 months), which are more similar to a typical layaway model used for larger purchases. Affirm sees 50% of all U.S. BNPL transactions by REVENUE, according to the company, and this is because a lot of those are larger ticket items that you may not have the cash for all at once. Spoke with Affirm CFO Rob O'Hare for an exclusive Stocktwits fireside chat -- we scoured investor comments from the Internet and brought him face to face with the comment section. WATCH HERE: https://lnkd.in/evqmcckr A few things we covered: ?? Buy Now Pay Later options account for ~7.5% of all e-commerce transactions in the U.S. (!!!) and $AFRM sees about 50% of that as measured by revenue. ?? There are a lot of BNPL options on the market, including Klarna which just filed its S-1 and will soon trade under the ticker $KLAR. Rob broke down the different ways these companies provide payment flexibility to consumers and the differences between a 'pay in four' model (four installments) and more flexible models more conducive to bigger ticket items. ?? A LOT of investors were curious about how BNPLs fare in economic good times and bad, so we mapped out some scenarios and how Affirm's products plug into each. ?? We also had some 'armchair corp devs' in the mix, asking Rob if certain companies would be potential acquirers of Affirm at some point down the line. This interview was co-produced by Stakeholder Labs, a software company that's modernizing investor marketing through digital, data-enabled technologies.

Chipotle Mexican Grill ($CMG) has had a strong run, with its stock up 70% in two years, making it the third-largest US restaurant chain by market cap, approaching $80 billion. In 2024, revenue rose 14.6% to $11.3 billion, with a slight improvement in operating margins. Still, investors were hoping for a more optimistic 2025 outlook instead of the company’s forecast for low-to-mid single-digit sales growth. CFO Adam Rymer sat down with Ann Berry to talk about what’s driving Chipotle’s growth.
