Hi LinkedIn fam! Just quick notes to all those interviewing and looking for new roles! 1) Always do homework on the company you're interviewing with. Google the company and go through their website and jot down some notes. 2) Ask questions. Questions not only show interest in the role but will give you a better understanding of what you may be getting yourself into. Some good things to ask about are: a) Expectations b) Resources that will be provided to you to support success c) Quotas (depending on job) d) Company Culture e) Growth opportunities f) Why is the position open There are lots more but these are some good starters. 3) Always be yourself - be confident about the things you are great in and be honest about your weaknesses (you don't want to get hired for the wrong reason) 4) Listen to listen...don't listen to respond. 5) Answer questions thoughtfully and be direct. Don't ramble but be detailed! 6) Always keep in mind interviews are a two way street! Both sides are trying to figure out if they're a good fit for each other. 7) Can't be said enough - if doing a virtual interview a) Be in a quiet place free from distraction b) The device you're using as your camera - keep it stationary c) Dress the part - yes even on a virtual interview (especially the part that will be on camera!!!) 8) Be on time!!! 9) Life happens - always contact the company with as much notice as possible if you're running late, change your mind or need to reschedule. These are just some basic pointers! We hope this helps someone that sees this and is actively interviewing. Good luck on your new opportunity search or next hire.
