Honoring Doug Crawley for Black History Month: A Legacy of Service and Leadership This Black History Month, we celebrate Doug Crawley, a veteran, entrepreneur, and visionary leader whose dedication to service extends far beyond the battlefield. As the CEO of Synergies Companies, a certified veteran-owned and minority-owned business, Doug has built a company that embodies resilience, innovation, and collaboration—values deeply rooted in his military experience. His journey from serving in the armed forces to leading a thriving business in contract packaging, fulfillment, display design, and 3PL services is a testament to the power of perseverance and strategic leadership. Through his work, he strengthens supply chains and creates opportunities for others, particularly in underrepresented communities. Doug’s leadership philosophy is guided by the "Five C’s of Collaboration"—commitment, clarity, confidence, caution, and courage—principles he developed from his military background and now applies to his business, ensuring excellence in every project. This month, we honor Doug Crawley not just for his achievements, but for his unwavering commitment to empowering others and making a lasting impact. Black History Month Spotlight: Honoring African Americans in Supply Chain & Workforce Innovation At Staffing Synergies, we know that the strength of the supply chain industry lies in its people; the innovators, the problem-solvers, and the workforce that keeps operations running. This Black History Month, we’re celebrating African Americans who have made a lasting impact in supply chain, logistics, and workforce development. We’re kicking off our series with Frederick McKinley Jones, a visionary whose invention of the automatic refrigeration system for trucks transformed logistics forever. His work ensured that perishable goods, from fresh food to life-saving medicine, could be transported safely; an innovation that still impacts supply chain operations today. At Staffing Synergies, we recognize that diversity in talent drives innovation in logistics, manufacturing, and fulfillment. As we honor Black pioneers this month, we also celebrate the Black professionals and workers shaping today’s supply chain industry. Stay tuned as we highlight more Black leaders who have changed the industry, and join the conversation: Who are the Black pioneers in logistics that inspire you? Drop their names in the comments! #BlackHistoryMonth #SupplyChainWorkforce #StaffingSolutions #BlackExcellence #WorkforceInnovation #DiversityInLogistics

Now that we are all caught up on work and emails after the conference, we can fully reflect on NMSDC 2024. This year’s NMSDC highlighted several important themes and initiatives, centering on creating new norms to advance economic equity for minority business enterprises. A key focus was on fostering collaboration between NMSDC and the Minority Business Development Agency (MBDA) to amplify access to capital, contracts, and networking opportunities that support MBE growth and wealth generation. The conference also emphasized goals to boost minority business revenue to surpass $1 trillion annually by 2030, a milestone aimed at generating substantial community wealth and broadening market inclusivity. Overall, we left the 2024 NMSDC feeling refreshed and optimistic, energized by the "Defining New Norms" theme that underscored the transformative power of diverse networks, partnerships, and inclusive business practices. hashtag #NMSDC2024 #MBE #DIVERSITY
