After meticulous planning, crews successfully executed a deck pour on the Trancas Creek Bridge on the famed Pacific Coast Highway in Malibu, CA, bringing us closer to the finish line. This vital piece of infrastructure expands the bridge span by 160 feet, allowing the channel size to meet the requirements of a 100 year storm.

What goes into a successful project? Meticulous planning, strong execution, and, above all else, dedication and commitment from our teams. Jen DeLong, Project Manager on our Burnside Bridge Partners (BBP) JV with Traylor Bros., Inc. and American Bridge Company, is an example of just that. Her leadership not only provides invaluable insights as the team works through preconstruction, but also helps those starting off in their careers see what it takes to be successful. Thank you, Jen! #wicweek #wicweek25 #womeninconstructionweek2025

Preconstruction services on the CMGC Frederick Douglass Tunnel South Approach Project are driving key engineering decisions before construction begins. Our team developed a full-scale wooden mock-up of the Knuckle in the Edmondson Arch Bridge to verify access points, refine tolerances, and validate sequencing for structural reinforcement and bearing connections. This process led to targeted design adjustments, optimizing steel erection and enhancing field construction efficiency. Ensuring a smooth build for Amtrak and its partners starts long before the first piece of steel is set. Learn more at https://hubs.ly/Q037QFyZ0

Team members like Clayton Tanner are the reason why CREW360 exists. Every day, the craft faces safety hazards that demand constant vigilance. That’s why providing the right tools, training, and support is crucial to keep them safe and empowered. CREW360 was designed in partnership with Caterpillar Inc. Safety Services to create a culture where every member of our team plays a proactive role in safety. It encourages craft employees to speak up when something doesn’t seem right and equips them to act before it becomes an issue. We’re proud to see our team take ownership of safety on our job sites. When the craft are engaged and proactive, everyone wins.

Seismic testing advances for the Earthquake Ready Burnside Bridge with a 10-foot diameter, 125-foot deep test shaft. Burnside Bridge Partners, a joint venture between Stacy Witbeck, Traylor Bros., Inc. and American Bridge Company is leading this full-scale Bi-Directional Load Test to measure how the foundation responds to simulated earthquake forces. Load cell assemblies apply pressure to the shaft while specialized instrumentation records data on structural performance. This test is a critical step in designing the new Burnside Bridge, which will serve as a lifeline route during a Cascadia Subduction Zone earthquake. Portland’s seismic resilience efforts are making headlines. Watch the coverage here: https://hubs.ly/Q036qpns0
