For STEM Day today we celebrate our entire industry, where Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics drive innovation and are at the core of everything we do. The construction industry is not only essential but also constantly evolving, offering endless opportunities for innovation and growth. Stacy Witbeck is committed to inspiring future builders and engineers by offering internships and programs within STEM. We encourage students to explore the exciting careers of this industry has to offer.

We're excited to see everybody at the Design-Build Institute of America (DBIA) Conference in Dallas, Texas this week. With multiple PDB projects underway, we understand the power of collaboration, and look forward to exchanging insights with the rest of the industry.

We're grateful for the opportunity to continue working with San Diego Association of Governments (SANDAG) in partnership with Flatiron Construction and Skanska on the North Coast Corridor. The Batiquitos Lagoon Double Track project will soon start work on replacing an outdated wooden trestle bridge with a modern double-track bridge, removing a significant bottleneck in the corridor. Portland's Parklane Park project is on track for substantial completion within the next few weeks, and we've made some friends along the way. The project redeveloped and expanded the existing 5-acre park in Portland, Oregon, by 20 acres. The amenities constructed include an accessible play area, basketball and pickleball courts, two restrooms, two natural turf soccer fields, a parking lot, expansive paved pathways and lighting, a large custom fabricated pavilion shelter, dog park, community garden, playground and splash pad, skatepark, and seeded open spaces with native grass.

We're excited to announce the official groundbreaking of the Shiloh maintenance facility in Plano, Texas. The 14-acre site will have yard storage track for 8 vehicles, including enclosed buildings for vehicle wash and maintenance, as well as a fuel dispensing facility with a canopy and an underground storage tank. This project will support DART (Dallas Area Rapid Transit)'s new Silver Line servicing the greater DFW area, scheduled to start service late 2025 to early 2026.

In spring of 2020 we attended a safety and leadership summit hosted by Caterpillar Inc. Safety Services. It inspired us to utilize their leadership concepts to drive continuous improvement throughout our safety approach. We branded it CREW360, and five years later it has become a craft-based leadership group for safety in our company, driving progress in every aspect of the program. The core tenets are craft engagement, genuine care for people, continuous improvement, proactive activity, and catching people doing it right! The CREW360 Safety Steering Team recently met in Colorado to discuss the results of our current safety perception assessment, and plan for 2025 and beyond. This will include an increased focus on High Energy Control Assessments (HECA), a process that field crews and inspectors can use to ensure all high-energy hazards on site have a matching control to reduce or eliminate energy that may contact workers and cause serious injury. While the team was together, they enjoyed a scenic tour on the Manitou and Pikes Peak COG Railway, rebuilt by our crews and Stadler in 2021. Special thanks to all CREW360 participants past, current, and future, as well as to leaders across the industry who have helped drive a stronger safety culture!

Early work is underway on the Port of Long Beach Pier B On-Dock Rail Support Facility. Referred to as "America's Green Gateway, the project will enhance cargo movement by expanding the railyard from 82 to 171 acres, tripling the port's on-dock rail capacity. When finished, this will boost the U.S. supply chain's efficiency, reduce emissions, and support economic growth by creating over 1,100 union jobs. Since the groundbreaking ceremony, teams have begun clearing and grubbing the area while finalizing the baseline schedule.

Thank you to EDA Architects Ltd and R&O Construction for the incredible job in planning and building our new Salt Lake City regional office, located directly off the Trax Green Line extension built by Stacy Witbeck over a decade ago. Featuring work from local artist Paul Heath, the LEED Gold building is a two story steel frame structure with a state of the art AV system to support large training sessions and meetings with partners. We recently hosted a reception thanking everybody for their hard work on creating this amazing space, and we look forward to the many years to come.

Day 5 of #constructioninclusionweek focuses on community engagement. We're proud of the positive impact our projects have in our communities and our work off the job too. One way we get involved with the community is through the Stacy Witbeck foundation. The foundation has a two part mission - supporting the communities where we work and uplifting programs that help people find meaningful careers in construction. Just in the last year, the Foundation has engaged with groups across the country that provide opportunities for people from all walks of life to be successful in our industry. These groups include the @CIEFoundation, @Cypress Mandela, Inc., @Oregon-Tradeswoman, @LatinosinTransit, and @COMTOhq, to name a few.

The key to a successful workplace culture is valuing every voice. This applies to everybody we interact with, not just those within our company. Providing team members with a respected seat at the table, free of bias, allows a more productive workplace and healthier workforce for the future.
