Congratulations to the care teams at Ascension St. Vincent's Southside and Clay County, which earned an 'A' fall 2024 Hospital Safety Grade from The Leapfrog Group, an independent national watchdog organization that grades nearly 3,000 general hospitals throughout the United States. St. Vincent's Southside and Clay County are among fewer than 30% of hospitals nationwide to achieve a fall 2024 'A.' In Florida, the hospitals are two of only 71 to achieve an 'A.' Kudos on a well-earned honor that demonstrates your commitment to patient safety!

This Veterans Day, we thank all the veterans in our care for their bravery and sacrifice, and the thousands of veterans who serve within our healing ministry. We also give thanks for the families and loved ones who support them. Various St. Vincent's hospitals held ceremonies honoring our veterans, including our Riverside campus which hosted our partner NAVAL HOSPITAL AT JACKSONVILLE at NAS Jacksonville leaders CAPT Craig Malloy, CAPT Shari Gentry, CAPT Jeremy Kilday, and LCDR Tineasha Woods.

We are humbled to support our hometown Jacksonville Icemen's Super Hero Night. Our Super Heroes don't wear capes, but they save lives inside our St. Vincent's hospitals and clinics everyday!

Ascension St. Vincent's Riverside President and CEO Scott Kashman recently shared his inspiring vision for the hospital and his appreciation for our communities in The Resident News Riverside-Avondale-Ortega. His vision, called Reimagine Riverside, strives to enhance the health of our communities through strategic growth, associate culture, community relationships, campus revitalization, and operational excellence.  We are incredibly fortunate to have a leader like Scott, who is innovative, passionate, and deeply community-centric. Recently, our Ascension St. Vincent's Riverside leadership team hosted Richard LaMura and Bryan Campbell from Congressman Aaron Bean's office. These visits are paramount to ensuring our elected officials and hospital administration collaborate and align on how to enhance our community's health. We greatly appreciate your time and the insightful discussions, Richard and Bryan. Thank you for meeting with us! 

Thank you to everyone who attended Ascension St. Vincent's Cardiology's 10th annual symposium. The event, which had over 120 attendees, was a platform for learning about advances in cardiovascular disease from ten expert cardiologists, fostering valuable connections, and sharing inspiring patient success stories. A special thank you to Ascension Medical Group St. Vincent's cardiologist, Dr. Carlos Leon, for once again coordinating and hosting this impactful event.

Ascension St. Vincent’s Riverside has performed its first procedure utilizing GammaTile, an innovative treatment specifically designed for use inside the brain. It is a Surgically Targeted Radiation Therapy (STaRT) that is intended to delay tumor regrowth for patients with brain tumors while protecting healthy brain tissue. The addition of this technology underscores our commitment to meeting the growing health needs of our community, enhancing patient experience and offering cutting-edge medical advancements.
