关于我们

A member of Marshall Health Network, St. Mary's Medical Center is the largest medical facility in the Tri-state region. At 413 beds, it is among the largest healthcare facilities in West Virginia, with centers of excellence in cardiac care, cancer treatment, emergency/trauma services, neuroscience, and joint replacement. On November 6, 1924, the Sisters of the Pallottine Missionary Society opened St. Mary's Hospital on a foundation of faith. From the moment when St. Mary's first opened its doors, the sisters set out to fulfill their mission: "We are inspired by the love of Christ to provide quality health care in ways which respect the God-given dignity of each person and the sacredness of human life." And, so began the tradition that is St. Mary's Medical Center. It has been nearly 100 years since the doors were first opened, and during that time, thousands of lay people have joined the Sisters in fulfilling the Medical Center's mission. Along the way, St. Mary's has built on a tradition of faith, a tradition of hope, a tradition of healing and a tradition of service. Most of all, St. Mary's has built on a tradition of care.

  • 💙 The power of friendship and faith 💙 Today, we celebrated Living Donor Day by honoring the actions of one of our own. Betty Waddell, APRN, donated a portion of her liver to Scotty Sparks, the husband of her friend and coworker, Cindy Sparks, SMMC Nurse Manager. A registered organ donor, Betty said it was an easy decision to make a living donation to her friend's husband, and she thanked her other coworkers who made it possible for her to take the time she needed to recover. Scotty is alive and well today thanks to Betty. Learn more about organ donation today by visiting https://lnkd.in/gcqz-_F9 #DonateLifeMonth #LivingDonorDay
