Earlier today, SLSO musicians came together with The Sheldon's All-Star Chorus and UMSL Voices of Jubilee, led by Maria A. Ellis, to honor the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Keynote speaker Fredrika Newton of the Huey P. Newton Foundation moved us with her inspiring words as we reflected on this year’s theme, “Beloved Community” — a reminder of Dr. King’s dream of unity, equality, and hope for all. ❤️

The SLSO was honored to present its Holocaust Composer Stories project at the Association of Holocaust Organizations conference last weekend. This beautiful project explores the stories of those impacted by the Holocaust through music. To launch the project, SLSO musicians have shared Pavel Haas' String Quartet. We are excited to launch a classroom version of this project later this month in schools across Missouri.
