St. Louis Community is more than a credit union. We’re a leader and voice for social justice in the financial services world. For eight decades, we’ve been a true champion for the community. As a Community Development Financial Institution, St. Louis Community Credit Union (SLCCU) values and recognizes the importance of financial inclusion. We realize that while some of us may have different starting points in our financial and life journeys, reaching our desired goals is very important. You have a place with us. You belong. We believe that everyone has a right to affordable financial services. Whether it is through checking and savings accounts to help you manage your finances, a car loan or that loan for your first time or forever home you’ve been dreaming of, we’re here for you. These wealth-building vehicles help those in our community elevate and sustain their pathways to a brighter financial future. SLCCU serves residents of St. Louis City and those of Franklin, St. Louis and St. Charles counties in Missouri; as well as St. Clair, Madison, Monroe and Jersey counties in Illinois. We are also a Low-Income Designated credit union and one of the largest Minority Depository Institutions in the country (per the National Credit Union Administration). Our approach to financial services is holistic. With several branch locations, including mini-branch offices inside social service agencies, we meet people where they are. In addition to our branches, we align with community partners like Prosperity Connection to help our members receive free financial education and coaching services. Through our many community-focused efforts, we offer our members the opportunity to connect to much-needed services that may affect their daily lives outside of banking. We provide access to healthcare, healthy foods, workforce development and education. We’re part of the communities we reach and serve. What we do for our members and the community matters.

BJC Health System (BJC), SSM Health and the James S. McDonnell Foundation (JSMF) recently announced a multi-sector collaboration with SLCCU to provide nearly $15 million in low-cost deposits through the credit union’s Community Impact Deposit program. The funds will be used to help underrepresented businesses gain access to affordable loans for working capital, equipment, real estate, and more. Through this strategic deposit relationship, our credit union has additional lending capacity to meet the borrowing needs of small businesses. We are proud to partner with BJC, SSM Health, and JSMF to accomplish this important work. Collectively, we are building a more financially inclusive region for everyone. https://lnkd.in/gfjWWYs7

Missouri Foundation for Health recently highlighted our Community Impact Deposit (CID) program in their Changemaking Now publication. The CID program helps St. Louis Community Credit Union tackle the racial wealth gap by using deposit funds to provide safe and affordable financial services to economically distressed ZIP codes throughout both St. Louis City and County. We salute Breakfast Club STL and Siteman Cancer Center for hosting a mobile mammography van visit at our Jennings branch.
