🎉 SLATE Celebrates 50 Years of Service to the St. Louis Community! 🎉 The St. Louis Agency on Training and Employment (SLATE) announces the year-long celebration of its 50th anniversary in 2025. For half a century, SLATE has been prominent in the St. Louis community helping unemployed and underemployed St. Louisans connect to job opportunities and helping employers recruit and retain skilled workers. In celebration, SLATE will unveil a new brand identity that reflects the organization’s future strategic direction, mission, and goals in the first quarter and will execute several promotional and informational initiatives throughout the year. SLATE will also host quarterly job fairs, networking events, resource fairs, and other community events to mark this milestone. “For fifty years, SLATE has helped to transform the economic landscape of our city by connecting residents with employment opportunities,” said Mayor Tishaura O. Jones. “The dignity of gainful employment cannot be overstated, and I’m looking forward to the next fifty years of partnership and collaboration that will continue to help connect employers to job seekers in the City of St. Louis.” “As we head into our next 50 years of service to the community, we will continue to keep our fingers on the pulse of what the community needs to thrive. 🎄🎁 Holiday Miracles at SLATE! 🎁🎄 This holiday season, our SLATE family embraced the spirit of giving by "adopting" a local family of nine and making their Christmas dreams come true. Every child received the toys they wished for, from Pokémon cards and Barbie dolls to Legos and Beyblades, while their caregiver was supported with much-needed household essentials, including toiletries, linens, and a Walmart gift card. We’re so grateful for the opportunity to give back to our community and bring joy to a fellow St. Louisan family in need. His career journey has included significant roles in the Aviation industry, where he distinguished himself as a dedicated professional and leader committed to advancing job security and financial stability. Shannon’s efforts have been recognized through multiple nominations for the Chairman’s Club awards at Delta Airlines, showcasing his exceptional performance and commitment to excellence. Beyond his professional achievements, Shannon is deeply invested in community service and mentorship. Shannon actively mentors young men and partners with nonprofits focused on youth and family support. As a track coach and board member of the Kansas City Smoke Track Club, he promotes athletics and personal growth. Additionally, his involvement with the Masons and Shriners highlights his dedication to community initiatives like backpack drives and advocating for the Shriners Hospital.
