Congratulations, Diane Rosales, Unit Secretary, 7th Floor, on being named our Winter 2025 BEE Award honoree. Diane was nominated by a patient's family who expressed how much they appreciated her friendly manner and assistance beyond their expectations. She helped obtain the medication a patient needed upon going home when the family realized that the original prescription became lost in the process. Diane patiently listened to their concern. She helped to get the prescription replaced and ordered at their pharmacy. She then followed up promptly with the family. The patient's wife said, "I can't thank her enough for going out of her way to help me and find something I was in need of. She took it upon herself to help us and showed me that St. Francis and their staff truly care." Thank you, Diane, for Being Excellent Every Day.

February is Heart Month -- a good reminder that our hearts need live-giving blood. Blood is needed throughout the year for sick and injured people. Please consider donating at our upcoming Blood Drive on February 19th. According to the American Red Cross, the February blood supply can be unpredictable because inclement weather often keeps blood donors at home. We hope to help prevent this seasonal challenge. Thank you for your gift of life.

We are pleased to announce our Winter 2025 DAISY Award honoree -- Christopher Soler, RN, ICU. The DAISY Award recognizes exceptional nurses whose compassion and care make a positive difference for patients, patients' family, and co-workers. Christopher was nominated by a patient's family who said, "Christopher has shown my mother so much compassion and patience, always looking to make her feel comfortable, from brining extra blankets and setting pillows under her back, to offering water and staying on top of everything. He always has a calm and friendly attitude. He treats my mom as his own mother. He has shown our family respect, assistance, and flexibility and always keeps us informed. I have labeled him a true angel and everyone agrees." Congratulations, Christopher. Thank you for your commitment to caring for our community with kindness, quality, and compassion.

We are pleased to announce that we received Comprehensive Stroke Center designation from the Los Angeles County Emergency Medical Services Agency. This means we will now receive 9-1-1 patients who are assessed with the most severe stroke symptoms. The designation gives residents immediate access to high-level, lifesaving treatment right in our own neighborhood. In addition, it recognizes our skilled team of specialists, advanced capabilities including our biplane cardiovascular and interventional imaging system, and ability to efficiently and effectively care for stroke patients from the pre-hospital phase to the rehabilitation phase. We are proud to serve this community and ensure that the best care is available and accessible to all. https://lnkd.in/gM2qJdXm
